As you can see from the photo provided, there is no way to adhere these to the ground by gromits or any other means. Once they are connected in a vertical row for a pathway, chords strap across the walking path causing a dangerous tripping hazard. These will be returned.

Did not buy this to melt snow. I work in a garage with poor heat and my feet are always cold so I have this mat in front of my toolbox where I stand a good part of the day. Works great, keeps my feet warm and I am happy.

From the photo you can tell how effective this heated outdoor mat is. Even though the snow has just started, I am already impressed! I had cleared some of the ice adjacent to the mat, but you can see that it has melted even more in a straight line- and that ice is thick. I will try to update this review after the snowstorm we expect tonight. I hope that it will also help me stay ahead of the ice that forms as snowmelt drips from the gutter and freezes right at my door. ... show more
