Description

The SaltDogg TGS02 4.0 Cubic Foot Tailgate Spreader is ideal for residential and light commercial applications using ice melt and bagged salt, and works with 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, and 1 ton trucks. It features a horizontal auger feed that keeps material moving. The spreader has a low-profile 4.0 cubic foot poly hopper, and mounts to a 2 in. Class 4 receiver. The spreader operates a 9 in. poly spinner and can cast material up to 30 ft. Its 1/3 HP, 12V dual shaft gear motor is controlled by an included variable speed in-cab controller. It comes prewired for an optional vibrator kit (sold separately).

This is one of the worst products I have bought. Not even a year old and the gear motor has failed not once but twice. 15 minutes of use each time . Wast of $1500 dollars. It takes forever to get a hold of buyers for warranty. Just like to get my money back and buy a snow x or fisher spreader. Never again will I buy another salt dog product or buyers product. Spend a little more and buy something better. It’s just an ornament that just sits in the garage collecting dust and can’t be used. I wouldn’t even give it away that’s how bad this spreader is . Best entry point homeowner spreader Buyers makes. Had several different models and this one works best. Be mindful of how fragile the spreader shaft is. It bends quickly and easily but fortunately can be bent back by hand relatively easily. Certainly not for commercial use.

I've had my unit for 3 years and its been great. One big thing is you do need to get a Vibrator, ice melt will clog if you do not have one. The controller has built-in functionality to accept the accessorie. Once I added the Vibrator the unit worked flawlessly.

Junk- Clogs up every time. The slots in the bottom are why to small for the rock salt to flow down to the auger, and the adjustable flow plate in the bottom makes it even worse. After getting ride of the flow plate and cutting the two small hole into one large opening seems to fix the clog problem. Next it occasionally jams (binds and won't turn at all). To Make matters worse the shipping company lost all of the hardware, wiring and controller! The seller has not offed a replacement item or a refund. I was confident this would be a good product because its made by BuyersCompany which makes Snow Dogg plows, and i must say there plows are of the best quality and work like they should. ... show more

Arrived with the parts hanging out of the box. Installed with particular attention to the instructions that came with. Went to turn it on for the first time and it just flashed a code "C" after a little research code "C" means to replace the controller. The controller cost $300. I talked to Amazon on the phone and they are sending a replacement but it's almost 2 weeks out. I'm happy they are sending a replacement but not happy I have to wait. ... show more
