I bought this 8 pack of batteries to use with decorative led lights. The packaging was great & the batteries themselves seem well made and have a "quality" feel to them. I appreciated the little 4-way charging extension that was included. Each battery has a visible charge indicator in the form of 3 LEDs embedded under the + battery terminal that blink once per second while charging & are on continuously at full charge when plugged in. After charging all 8 batteries each showed a "no load" voltage of 1.54vdc - except 1 battery that tested 0 volts despite showing full charge when plugged in. After using the remaining 7 batteries thru about a dozen charge/discharge cycles I now have a 2nd battery that has failed in the same manner. I find a 25% failure rate in normal usage to be unaccetable. The usage was all indoors, never in cold environment, and not presenting a high current draw. The remaining 6 units continue to work well and charge properly, but who knows for how long?! ... show more

Or using these to power a 10-ft string of LED lights, that have a built-in timer that turns them on for 6 hours and off for 18. They will last at full power for about 2 days. I'm actually in awe that they managed to make these things so weak. Regular c batteries last two to three weeks, and these manage two to three days. Four of the eight batteries are defected and look like they’re about to explode. Would not recommend these to anyone.

    • First one defective. Second one has had issues.
In the first one received, the last port stayed red when a battery was inserted and removed. In the replacement, I've had one AA get overcharged to 1.55v or greater and became very warm as it continued trying to charge it. Not good for the battery, or safety. It should be pointed out that the appearance looks like a prototype device, which I don't mind if it was bug free, as 1.5v AA lithium chargers aren't common, but with these problems I'm nervous to continue using it. ... show more

I thought this was a really cool concept. I put the batteries in my 1 year olds mobile in her crib. They lasted 3 days. Regular C batteries last around a month. Thought I was going to save money but it was such a hassle. Not worth it
