Top Amazon Reviews

  • Amazing tone, bad reviews are probably user error.
First off, if powering from a USB-C PD power bank I find that it is necessary to turn on the powerbank first and then plug in the USB-C cable to the poweramp. Otherwise the poweramp will not turn on. Minor inconvenience, but this is the way USB PD gear works. I have a USB powered pedal power supply that also has this same behavior and I think it has more to do with the PD technology than the device in this listing. So far, I have only been able to try this power amp at 8 ohms which means I am getting 30W. Compared to an Electro Harmonic Magnum 44 it is not nearly as loud. I'll have to see how it is when I hook up a second speaker and have a 4 ohm load @ 60 W. This has the convenience of not needing to plug into a wall, and eliminates hum issues from weird electrical. Our 100 year old house has pretty sketchy outlets and can cause a lot of noise issues with hooking up guitar gear. Sounds much better running off battery. Tonally Magnum 44 sounds pretty good but has no tone controls. The CabScreamer60 presence and resonance controls are downright amazing. I can dial out excess bass or treble very easily and accommodate all sorts of different cabinets with different tonal properties. Have only been testing this for a brief time, so don't have a lot of other thoughts to offer yet but for the price it's really incredible. Thumbs up. ... show more

  • Would buy again
Took a couple different USBc cables and AC adapter tries to find 1 that worked. It doesn't come with that. Had me worried at first, almost sent it back. Best Buy has the cable and adapter like 40$. It can't quite power my pedal board from itself either due to my chosen board's higher power requirements. That said I really like it. Sounds great. Nice and loud with 1 12" 4ohn speaker. It's my fly rig amp now, I can run it off grid with my portable battery pack or on grid with an AC plug. I really dig the presence & resonance on board. As well as the stout build. ... show more

  • Unreliable
Sounded good for the 15 mins it worked. Unfortunately it started making a feedback like squealing noise then turned off. I let it sit for a few minuites and it turned on again only to start squealing again then made a click noise and turned off forever. I really wanted to like this little amp but I need it to be reliable. Will be returning for refund. ... show more

  • Wow!! This little thing cranks!!!!
I was hesitant in getting this due to the power how it's powered . But I already happened to have a power bank with a USB PD port so figured what the heck I'll give it a go. It arrived today with another one, which cost twice as much. And on 12 Volts this one blew it out of the water! I also noticed the battery was hardly even draining whatsoever and I was cranking up all the way. I didn't experience any of the other problems that some of the other reviewers mentioned. I'm pretty happy with this thing. It's a keeper! ... show more

  • Lab screamer Beast
Absolutely awesome unit! Before I go any further I just want to note that the only bad review in here is from a gentleman complaining about faulty units. If you look closely he is trying to plug them into the auxiliary outputs. I can see how he gets confused because this is an unusual Pedal Power Jack but nonetheless that is his issue. And now that that's over, this thing has really brought my little amps to life. I use it to add gain to a low wattage tube amplifier and it is unbelievable! Resonance and presence controls really let you open up or close the sound. Only reason I'm giving it four stars is that it's severely needs a bypass switch. Other than that, it is an absolutely solid unit with tone and soundstage for days. ... show more

  • Terrific value. Loud enough to use with a band. Nice sound
The controls on this unit are very useful for fine-tuning the response to speaker cabinets and the room. Start with both tone knobs at noon, and experiment from there. Small knob changes have a big impact on the sound. This amp is loud enough driving 4 ohms for use with a reasonably loud rock drummer, which is as loud as I need it to get. The self-noise level is quite low. Very little hiss and no audible hum or electronic interference, and I tested it in a place that normally causes all sorts of noise challenges. My signal chain with this power amp is as follows: Pedalboard into Revival Drive Compact (mixed to pass 50% dry signal) into a Strymon Iridium (with its speaker IRs bypassed) into reverb and delay, into this power amp, into two 8 ohm speaker cabinets. Gets a great tone and feel that's 95% as satisfying as playing through a cranked vintage non-master volume tube amp. That's saying a lot considering I own several stellar tube amps, including a vintage Deluxe Reverb and a custom made, handwired Plexi-style head. Much of the credit for that goes to the Revival and Iridium pedals that do a great job at giving one the FEEL of cranked tubes (note bloom, touch responsiveness, perfect amount of compression, harmonic richness). This unit's very small footprint and lightweight make it perfect for amplifying those amp modeler/simulation pedals so you can play through standard guitar speaker cabinets. I already own great-sounding guitar cabs, so did not want the extra cost and storage space required by a dedicated FRFR or amplified PA speaker. This power amp is perfect for that use. I had no problems powering the unit from my USB C 65 watt Thinkpad laptop power supply. The power on/off switch and other controls work as expected and smoothly. This power amp stays cool even used at fairly high volume levels. It comes very well packaged and protected in a form-fitting foam insert inside its box. One thing to note is that there are no rubber feet on the bottom of the unit. You could always add some tall self-adhesive ones. This unit is completely flat on the bottom, so it will not straddle or clear a standard Fender or Marshall style strap handle if placed on top of a speaker cab--it leans. I use a small, thin sheet of silicone draped over the cab handle. That creates a very non-slip surface so the power amp stays put, and it even protects the cab tolex, in case the amp ever gets hot! • Don’t buy, not worth the risk
I watched a bunch of YouTube videos on this product before I bought it and they all said it was super cool and worked wonderfully. When it arrived and I hooked it up to play it wouldn’t turn on, I checked all my cables and seeing that there’s a couple other reviews saying they had the same problem I knew it wasn’t me. There is a QR code on the back of the amp when you scan it it takes you to what I assume is supposed to be a customer service number, when I tried to call the number it said it was a disconnect number. I even checked the companies website and there was no customer support option, just a bunch of trouble shooting windows none of which were for the product I bought. Don’t bother with the risk of buying it, just save up some money and buy a decent amp ... show more
