I have no idea what the bad reviews are about. This ladder is perfect. (Updated review - I cant find my other one!) It's not light - weighs about 35 lbs - if that doesn't say sturdy - then I dont know what people are looking for - this ladder is super sturdy. I'm 90lbs soaking wet , not quite 5ft tall and at first I thought for sure that I would not be able to manage this ladder because of the weight. Granted - I couldn't lift it to hang on the door - I did have help. I bought this specifically for my "attic" / "hole in the roof". The ladders I had, were just not tall enough for me to get up there. Not sure how it happened - but the first time I telescoped the ladder up - it got stuck telescoping down as one of the latches were missing. I totally understand in mass production these things happen. I got hold hold of the very friendly and efficient seller, explaining the problem. They offered to send me a new one - reluctant to waste the time and reship cost - I asked for new latches - which I received within days. I love how it telescopes to whichever length I need. I love the 360 degree turn handles. I love that on my smooth flooring the ladder did not budge once. The person helping me was substantially larger than ne and was able to shimmy up and down with ease and zero buckling. I got up in the attic easily - hauled the vacuum cleaner up - cleaned out the vacuum - stored a bunch of super heavy boxes. Absolutely thrilled with this ladder. I give it more than 5 stars quite honestly.

Product ordered was supposed to be new. It arrived used with a beat-up box that was previously opened and then hastily repackaged with new packing tape. Ladder in the box was missing one of the two hooks.

This ladder is junk. I have owned it for 5 minutes and it broke already. The bottom rung is attached with a PLASTIC bracket and snapped the moment I stepped on it. When extended, it is very wobbly and loose. Don't waste your money. Actually, all of the rungs are attached with PLASTIC.
