I have to go to bed before the sun in the summer, and needed that thing out of my bedroom. The shades work great for that. Privacy is also great, since at night I am no longer illuminating the plants by the window if the lights are on. It was easier to install this than it was to remove the old blinds. Fit is tight so there's not big gaps on either side like with cheap venetian blinds. I do have to agree with others that the pull tabs look a little brittle and the white could be slightly whiter. An anti-static/anti-dust coating straight out of the package would help keep things that way as well. ... show more

Broke in less than 2 months. I only use the top down portion of this blind regularly. After about two months of use I tried to pull the blinds up one day and they wouldn't to up. The string got suck. So I tried to put the bottom up to see if that worked. It worked but I heard a loud snap/retract sound. I tried to put the top up and it went up but now the bottom won't go down so my blinds are stuck halfway up. Horrible value for money. ... show more

Exact what I needed to replace those ancient mini blinds. We live in a wooded area but the neighbors house is hideous. Being able to open the top half of the blinds is so nice. They're nice and thick and provide darkness for tv watching. They're smooth to open and close. Look great.

Easy to Install, blackout works well, very very cheap screws. Strip easily and one just broke in half. Shades have been up for over a year tho and still great.
