The Toniebox has been one of the best purchases we’ve made for our child. We started with the Paw Patrol starter pack when she was about 18 months old, and she was immediately interested. Now at 2.5, she still uses it regularly, and our collection has grown right along with her. One of the biggest benefits for our family was using it to help wean off TV time. The Toniebox gave her something engaging and familiar without a screen, which made the transition much easier. Because she could choose her own stories and music and operate it independently, she didn’t feel like something was being taken away. It helped us get back to minimal TV without frustration or constant requests. It’s durable, intuitive, and truly grows with your child. It’s become part of our daily routine and one of the few products that’s delivered long-term value in our home. Absolutely worth it. The volume can be very easily controlled with the ears and it's pretty loud if I have to say so myself. If you absolutely wanted to you can certainly hook up headphones but we have yet to do that ourselves. You don't have to worry about involving yourself because changing the story is as simple as replacing the character on top. The magnetic strength is pretty decent, you could flip the box upside down and you don't have to worry about the character falling off. And yet, it's not too strong that my dad are can't take it off herself. She enjoys being able to play with how far she can pull the character away before the stories pauses. Battery life is also really good. We could run it what feels like all day for a couple days before we finally need to charge it. Completely functional and worth every penny.

The Toniebox Paw Patrol combo was a great find for me to give my granddaughter as a present. No, this item is not inexpensive and normally I would be hesitant to spend this much on a toy with the risk of it quickly fading from interest. Other reviews consistently mentioned the Toniebox being durable and easy for little hands to use while maintaining kids interest and attention, so I rolled the dice. I have to say the Toniebox Paw Patrol combo, along with a few additional Disney characters has kept my 2-1/2 year old granddaughter's attention for a solid 3 months now. She loves that she can operate it all by herself, is enthralled by the stories, and sings along with the songs. And yes, the Toniebox is indeed durable and looks great while consistently working reliably despite some bumps and bangs that will always happen with a little one in charge. Overall a very good quality toy that sparks imagination kinda like that old GE kids record player did for me back in the early '70's. Zero regrets with this purchase.

Update: yes it does work without wifi so it can be taken on the go. Only you cannot download new tonies without the wifi connection Do yourself a favor and BYPASS setting up on the app. That does NOT work. We set it up with the laptop and it was connected in about 2 minutes. When you setup on the laptop they will tell you that you have to find the specific tonies "wifi" network. That is probably why it never worked with setting up on the app. They don't tell you that in any of the instructions on the app. Now that it's setup the kiddo loves it. The characters are so cute that they keep taking them to play with! It's so simple to use and setup new characters. Just pop them on or off and you are good to go. Child can easily turn the volume up and down. Will have to go into settings because they want to skip certain stories and songs and we haven't figured that part out. We haven't been out of wifi range with it so I don't know if it will play without wifi or not while we travel. But you can buy headphones (they sell one) to connect to it so your child can just listen to it alone. You can either leave it plugged in on the dock or once its charged take it off so the child can take it around the house. The sides are soft and padded. A great screen free device to have and if you wait for prime or black friday you can get it for an amazing price. Definitely a great gift to give whether it's a birthday holiday or just because.

My daughter listens to this all the time. I got her a different listening device that she never uses so I was worried this would be the same, but she has used it consistently since getting it. I’m hoping she’ll grow into the other one. But I highly recommend. My daughter is 4 and it’s perfect for her age. I love that she can control it all and I can trust her to use it without my supervision. I had a record player when I was her age and I wanted something similar. That she can hang out in her room and listen to while she plays. It’s gotten her away from a screen always playing in the background and that was my main hope.

Bought during a sale and given at Christmas. Set up took a little while, but finally got it to work. It’s a great starter kit for kids! It will tell you when the battery is low and needed to be charged.

This is a favorite for bedtime and travel! We love that it is screenless because the kids are overstimulated by all of the screens around them on a daily basis. Each Tonie character is fairly expensive, but the kids like that they can control the sound and the stories themselves, so the characters are great recommendations to give others (family) when asking what to get for birthday and Christmas gifts.
