This does exactly what it should do. It fits the saw and it allows you to use a daao blade on the jobsite saw. The construction of it feels nicer than the one that came with the saw originally

I had purchased the dado set and needed a wider throat plate for my Dewalt portable table saw (DWE7491RS). This plate appeared to do the job and was the only one that I could find online to fit my saw. HOWEVER, at first glance, the plate seems well made and apparently a good fit. But while using the plate, I could not get it to fit flush with the table saw deck. Comparing the dado plate with the original factory plate, I noticed that the cut out on the left edge is not the same, thus prevently the dado plate from seating properly. Because of the way it is cast, that extra cut out space cannot be ground or filed out. It simply doesn't fit properly. I am surprised that this product made it this far into the market, without any push back from buyers. I've included an image to illustrate the problem. The original plate is on the bottom and the dado plate is on the top. Note the large difference in the side cut out. This is necessary for the plate to seat properly. If you have the same table saw that I have and you need a dado plate, you will have to make it yourself. I'm more than disappointed with this product, since otherwise it seems to be made well enough.

I had read the reviews on this aluminum insert. I was apprehensive about buying this, but, I figured I would give it a shot. After getting it, and inserting it, I found that the fit was quite good. It was pretty even ( level) with the table. It had a little wobble, but nothing that the leveling screws couldn't handle. I began to screw the lower right screw down, and SNAP..! It broke off, at the head..! So, I got a small drill bit, and using my drill press, I was able to drill a hole in the center of the screw. I ended up drilling the rest of the screw out, using a 1/8 inch drill. What a P.I.T.A..!!!!! All because the screws are NOT long enough, and they didn't tap the threads the whole way thru..! I will go to the hardware store tomorrow, and see if these are 4mm thread. I will buy a tap, to " chase" the threads out, and re- thread the one I drilled. I will also get longer screws, since these are too short, for any adjustments. After rethreading each hole, and replacing the screws, this should be nice and tight. The overall build of this insert is good, however, the quality control leaves much to be desired. This should have never left the factory like this..!! It seems like everything you buy now, has some issue. And most are just stupid, common sense, mistakes..!!! C 'mon... This is just total incompetence...! UPDATE : I bought a 4.0 x 0.70 metric plug tap and ran it thru all 4 holes. I didn't have to drill new holes. I bought 4 new metric screws, 3/16 inch long, just a little longer than the originals. Since I ran the tap the entire way thru the holes, I was able to then actually use the screws to adjust the insert leveling. This repair worked perfectly. Once I had the insert completely level, I put locktite on the threads. Yours Truly, Mr.Scott..! LoL

This is a solid product, more heavy duty than the manufacturer's throat plate, not the (cheap plastic) comments, that crept into the reviews for this product. That being said, you must modify (grind) away metal material on the bottom left (nearest to the blade) side, (due to interference with the fabric attached for dust collection efficiency), after I removed that material, the throat plate fit very well, some slight rocking (due to the 2 front end legs being thinner), but nothing that will affect your cuts. Overall a good buy for your table saw.
