I have never written a review immediately after using a product. I generally wait a few weeks to see how things go, BUT this time I’m here right away writing a review. I was very hesitant to invest a lot of money in a shade, especially after having spent so little money in the past grabbing “disposable” pull down shades at Home Depot and Lowe’s. I’m so happy we made the investment! Key take aways: 1. Spend extra time measuring the width and length of where you want to install the shade. Especially if your installing in the inside of the window frame. (As I did) 2. Give yourself a couple weeks as a delivery time frame - if you need the shade tomorrow or next week shop go with a cheapy shade. (It’ll be worth the wait, though.) 3. I’d you’re installing onto a wood frame/mounding, pre-drill your holes for the brackets. (Our home is old, so the wood will split otherwise.) That’s it! It took me more time to measure, prep my tools, and open the box than it did to install the shade. (Installation took maybe 15-minutes?) And there was minimal clean-up - just some wood dust from me ore-drilling.

These blinds are very well made and professional. We did a commercial install in our board room. This involved very accurate/critical measuring because it was not your typical home installation as you can see from the pictures. The blinds were touching end to end and all we had was a 1 1/2" aluminum window supports and ceiling grid to attach the brackets to. This also involved having to drill holes in the brackets to make up for the lack of space we had to attach them to. All in all, it took only 2 hours to install 5 shades that were 56 inches wide. Total black out and awesome thermal barrier. EXCELLENT product and experience.

After rebuilding and returning home following the Caldor Fire in California, I've realized that losing all of those trees means that the afternoon sun is so much hotter than it used to be. I decided I needed something to shield the bright sun now pounding down on our house. I quickly realized my French door windows were not a "standard" size. The fact I could order custom blinds was the main reason I placed this order. But I have to admit, I am blown away by the professional service (they emailed to verify size, allowing me to make a slight change). They arrived much sooner than expected. They are beautiful and they operate so very smoothly! I am thrilled. And they do what I had hoped, they dramatically reduce the temperature in the house by blocking out the bright sun that the missing trees no longer can. Highly recommend.
