  • Works extremely well and great value.
Size: DM9-7" Digital Microscope
This digital microscope has surpassed my expectations. It is well built, easy to use, crystal clear images and all features were displayed sharp. It is a great value for the quantity you receive. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for the most bang for your buck. It works!!!

  • Great digital microscope. Exceeded expectations.
Size: DM9-7" Digital Microscope
I purchased this digital microscope for my university lectures where I am simultaneously teaching students in class and via Zoom. The USB function is a real plus. I was able to plug this in, and during a Zoom meeting, switch from my webcam to the microscope with no problem. This allowed students in class to watch what I was doing on the projection screen while students at home could watch on their computer screens, all with excellent resolution. The ability to take pictures or video with the microscope at the click of a button is a real added bonus. The microscope is very impressive for the price. It is relatively small and easy to pack and carry in the original box. I can set it up or take it down in about 2 minutes. The additional side lighting helps to produce shadows or provide illumination to your very tiny subject matter. Yesterday, I was teaching about the "placoid scales" of sharks. These scales are more like teeth than fish scales. Although you can readily feel them on shark skin, you cannot see them with the naked eye. This microscope showed them in far better detail than I had hoped. The 7" screen is like a very large cell phone or a small tablet. This is plenty big enough for soldering circuits, grading coins, etc. If you want it big, you can always project it onto a 100" screen (which is what I do in class). The digital functions of the microscope (lighting levels, exposure compensation, timer, camera functions, etc.) can be controlled with buttons on the screen or the wired remote. The rechargeable 18650 rechargeable battery is fairly common. While you can plug your microscope into a USB block to charge, I actually have a dozen of these batteries and external charger for my SCUBA lights. The battery lasts for about 3 hours and (if the battery ever dies) you can pick up a few extras on Amazon for relatively little money. Bottom line, although this may not be laboratory grade equipment, it does produce similar results and at a fraction of the cost. It does feel a bit like a toy, but it's hard to argue with the results. I'm far more impressed with this unit than I hoped. Time will tell how durable it is, but for now, I'm super happy I purchased the TOMLOV. Pictures included are of shark skin scales and close ups of a $1 bill. The last photo is the closest/most magnification I could get and still be able to focus. These are photos directly from the microscope. ... show more

  • Saved pictures may have color issues.
Size: DM9-7" Digital Microscope
It's relatively cheap, It's easy to set up, focusing is easy enough, the screen is decent (claims to be 1080p). The light on the lens is usually plenty but also has a couple of lights on the base that are good to use if you have something reflective. The remote control is nice so you are not jiggling the screen and camera around by using the buttons on the bottom of the screen to cycle through the menus. It has an internal battery that when fully charged will power the camera, display and all the lights for maybe an hour. You can connect it to your computer and use your computer monitor but be aware that you will see the color issues. Image1 is from my cellphone camera. Image2 is from the monitor taken with my cellphone. Image3 is what was saved to the micro SD card. Image4 is looking at CPU pins. Image5 is close up on the ends of the pins. Image6 is focused on the board around the pins. image7 is a close up of a Nintendo DS ROM that has a lot of color that was saved to the SD card. Images on the Tomlov screen are somewhat close to correct color but images on the computer monitor or those saved to the SD card too green except that image7 looks fine, but it has a lot of color. It has issues with large amounts of white in the picture, that is what turns green. The files get larger as the indicated resolution goes up all the way to "16mp" which I doubt is actually 16mp. 1mp image is about 575kb and a 16mp is about 3,335kb. The manual that comes with it is pretty good at explaining what everything does. Over all I think for the money it will do what most hobbyists will use it for. If you are using it for soldering small circuits and electrical components or looking at coins, it's fine. The images can be quite clear. If you are wanting to take pictures with it you will need some photo editing software to do color correction. I am a little concerned about the small, light gauge wires on the remote. It's what you would expect at this price. It has it's limitations. I think that I can use it for my purposes. I'm going to give it a thumbs up. ... show more
