Description

The AmScope SM-3TZ-54S-5M digital professional stereo zoom microscope has a pair of 10x super-widefield high-eyepoint eyepieces, a 0.7x-4.5x zoom objective, and a single-arm boom stand. The microscope has an overall magnification range of 3.5x-90x. The 5MP camera has a CMOS color sensor, a reduction lens, image capture and editing software, and USB 2.0 output to capture or display still or video images on a computer or projector. The trinocular viewing head has an interpupillary range of 55 to 75mm, a 45-degree inclination to reduce eye and neck strain, and 360-degree rotation to enable sharing. The vertical trinocular port can be used as a C-Mount or 23mm photo port. The WH10x20mm super-widefield high-eyepoint eyepieces combine with the 0.7x-4.5x zoom objective to provide continuous zoom magnification and a longer working distance for inspecting large-scale specimens that require handling or repair. The microscope comes with 0.5x and 2.0x Barlow lenses that can be added to the objective to increase the magnification range. A Barlow lens with a magnification of less than 1.0 reduces magnification and increases the working distance, while a Barlow lens with a magnification greater than 1.0 increases the magnification and reduces the working distance. High-eyepoint eyepieces ease viewing for users who wear glasses, and dioptric adjustment accommodates individual eye-strength differences. A digital stereo microscope, sometimes called an inspection or dissection microscope, has low magnification and a long working distance that enables users to manipulate the object being inspected, and is used where image capture, detailed records, or documentation is required. The 5MP digital camera has a CMOS color sensor for displaying still microscopy images and streaming live videos to a computer or projector. The camera has 40x magnification and a 0.5x reduction lens that ensures that the display has a similar field of view as the microscope eyepiece. The camera can be mounted in a C-Mount or any 23mm eye tube. The camera includes image capture and editing software that provides still image and live video capture and editing capability, including measurement functions. The software supports JPG, TIF, GIF, PSD, WMF, and BMP file formats and is compatible with Windows 10/XP/Vista/7/8/10 and Mac OS X. Camera drivers are compatible withWindows 10/XP/Vista/7/8/10 and Mac OS X. The software includes Windows APIs for native C/C++, C, DirectShow, Twain, and LabVIEW that enable custom application development. The camera has a USB 2.0 data port (cable included). The removable 54-bulb LED ring light provides bright, cool light for working with temperature-sensitive or live specimens. The ring light provides shadow-free illumination, and a rheostat controls the amount of light emanating from the lamp. Power and adjustment controls are located on the light head. The light uses a 110V-240V variable power supply. The microscope has a 17" pillar that has an 8" vertical working distance. The 16" single-arm boom has a 24" overall length. Bilateral focus eases use for left- and right-handed users. The microscope head can be rotated on the X- and Y-axes. The solid cast-steel base is 1-3/4 x 9 x 9 inches (H x W x D, where H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back).Microscope SpecificationsHeadTrinocularMagnification range3.5x-90xZoom objective power 0.7x-4.5xEyepieces (DIN, 30mm)WH10x20mm high- eyepointTrinocular portC-Mount or 23mmField of view2-1/2"Optical working distanceUp to 8"Microscope standSingle-arm boom standHead movementX- and Y-axesIllumination typeEpiscopic (reflected)Light source54-bulb LED ring lightPower110V-240V Camera SpecificationsResolution5MP (2592 x 1944 effective pixels)Image typeStill image and video display and captureCamera typeBrightfieldCamera sensor1/2.5" Aptina MT9P001 CMOS (color)Magnification40xReduction lens0.5xMounting size23mm or C-MountFrame rate60fps at 640x480; 18fps at 1280x960; 5fps at 2592x1944Computer connectionUSB 2.0 (backward compatible on PCs only)File formatsJPG, TIF, GIF, PSD, WMF, BMPSoftware packageImage capture and editing for Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8; Mac OS X; and LinuxCamera driver compatibilityWindows XP, Vista, 7, and 8; Mac OS X; and Linux Microscopes are instruments used to enhance the resolution of an object or image. Types include compound, stereo, or digital. Compound microscopes use a compound optical system with an objective lens and an eyepiece. Stereo microscopes show object depth in a three-dimensional image. Digital microscopes are used to display an image on a monitor, rather than looking through a lens. Microscopes can have monocular (one), binocular (two), or trinocular (three) eyepieces, with varying magnification abilities. Magnification ability refers to the size of an image. Resolution, also known as resolvant power, refers to the clarity of the image. The interaction between field of view (FOV), numerical aperture (NA), and working distance (WD) determines resolution. Microscopes can control magnification through a fixed focus, or through a range of adjustments. They can also utilize LED, fluorescent, and mirror light sources to help control viewing capabilities. Microscopes are widely used in education, lab research, biology, metallurgy, engineering, chemistry, manufacturing, and in the medical, forensic science, and veterinary industries.United Scope manufactures microscopy equipment and accessories under the brand name AmScope. • Great microscope, well worth the money.
This is well worth the money. We use it for plant parts and the view is real good, the top light is excellent. Usable for tiny and larger objects. The camera isn't that good, does't come close to what you can see with your eyes.

  • A good microscope for rock and mineral use. A camera of much lessor quality. Instructions of no value.
I will assume that if you purchased a scope of this quality, you have experience with microscopes. This is essential because the instructions were written by a Greek who was ignorant of both Chinese and English. The pictures were of microscopes, but not the one shipped. Fortunately microscopes are not that complicated. You assemble it to look like what you are used to. Parts that screw together only go where they fit. OK, I have a couple spare parts. The only use of the instructions (other than a source of amusement) was to learn the use of an aluminum rod called "the pole". The microscope is well made, and works smoothly. The optics are good. The LED light seems very fragile compared to the rest of the set-up, but works quite well. The eyepieces, surprisingly, do not have set screws to hold them in, but gravity seems to work quite well. The camera is not up to the quality of the microscope. The instructions, of course, are for something else, but I got it working by trial and error. Initial results with non-reflective specimens was OK, but reflective specimens only produced highlights. This was a trial run, and I may learn how to get better results yet. In summary, the microscope alone is worth the money. If you get the camera working well, that is a bonus. Forget the instructions, and use your experience and smarts. I got this to examine rocks, and it does that well. ... show more

  • Very nice value
This is the 3rd microscope that I've purchased over the years for electronics labs. Previous models were very similar, but almost 3X the cost. This model is perfect for evaluating SMT electronic components & solder joints. Can see if any cracks in solder & take pictures to share with engineering. Very impressed with this unit for the money. ... show more

  • This company is ripping people off.
Ordered a trinocular microscope. Received a binocular microscope that can switch one output from an eyepiece to the camera. The camera is complete garbage, MAX framerate is ~2 FPS and it is completely FULL of dead pixels. DO NOT BUY, I can get drastically better picture and video quality from my $89 Raspberry PI HQ camera and I don't have to use Amscope's awful software (I tried the Raspberry Pi camera because the Amscope one stopped working after 2 weeks. Company support is miserable, they don't care. Also, the company that owns Amscope owns numerous other microscope manufacturers, so you're likely buying it from them no matter what you get. ... show more

  • GOOD MICROSCOPE
Great investment...i am a master biology student...and don't have many time to work in the lab in the day so i need it to work at night at my house... I work with foraminifera which are as small as 63um I can see them without any problem. I recommended this to anyone is very professional-like. The installation instructions are a zero but its very easy to put up together by seeing the picture here. The only real-con is really heavy so once you choose a place to put it then its gonna stay there because it's really heavy. Also is very tall. Another thing is that too watch something of size as 63um you have to use another light since the led-one will not let you get to closer if your are working in a petri dish as i am. ... show more
