    • Now My Third Air Fryer That I've Had

First air fryer I had was a small Ninja, with a single drawer. It got too small VERY quickly, too quickly. Second was a oven-style Instant Vortex Pro. While larger and better than the Ninja, it also had its limits concerning portion sizes. (I have evolved into using my range oven almost never.) I ordered this one primarily because of size... 12in shelves vs 8.5in on the Instant Vortex Pro. While look is quite similar, it's different than the Instant Vortex Pro. 1) This one does not automatically pre-heat the oven. That is both a bad thing, and a good thing. If you forget that it doesn't preheat, then everything is going to come out half done. But, until you get use to it, pre-heating throws off the time needed to cook. (This is more of a pre-heat first, on its own cycle. Then reset cycle to what you want, and then first insert food and cook.) 2) The exterior of the Vortex Pro got warm but not hot, except at the single outlet. This air fryer has vents on 5 of 6 sides, and not insulated nearly as much as the Vortex. This means that everything else needs 4in distance from it, and it's best to sit it on an insulating pad. (Its exterior can get very hot.) 3) One thing I didn't like on the Vortex, was how closed the shelves were. The wire-mesh, that this one has, are far more open. This means that on the Vortex; you had to rotate the food like crazy, while with this one, far less. 4) I do like the catch-basin on the Vortex better. It's deeper. Thus when cooking meats (especially bacon), it can hold more. (With bacon, I'll more likely be forced to use the roaster pan. Thus having the bacon sitting in the grease. While other less fatting meats, I'll just have to watch more carefully... or also use the roaster pan.) 5) For my tastes, oven air fryers are far more functional, durable, and easier to keep clean, than the drawer ones. (I would not buy another drawer style.) Conclusion: 1) For me, an air fryer is a must have. And to a certain extent, larger is better. (Especially in air fry function, these can be overloaded very quickly. And, overloading always brings less than satisfactory results. Just at some point, you're back to range oven size. And that defeats the purpose.) 2) Comparing this one to the Vortex, it does some things better, and some things worse. So, it depends on what you are going to use it for. If for example; that's wings and French fries, this one IS the better option. Just in my tiny kitchenette, its size and needed distance to other objects, is pushing things to a bit on the extreme side of things. (So in figuring out if it fits in your kitchen, take the exterior measurements and add 8in to 10in to them. That then is the space you'll need to reserve for it... And, it's a bit too large to be one of those appliances you easily take out of storage/pantry, then put back into.) 3) As far as cleaning is concerned, bigger is better. 4) Taking the price of $79.99 (7/11/2023) into consideration, it's a worthwhile step, into the large size air fryers. (Others can cost you a lot, lot more.) Side Note: The dials spin/turn too easily for my tastes. It's very easy to bump one, and change the settings. While click settings might not be the best, them having a bit of tension on them, would be a good thing to improve. ... show more

Great functions! Replaces many appliances and makes great crispy fries! It comes with good accessories/pans/sheets! We used the frying basket and love it! Cleaning was easy and fast since it’s not much to clean due to the size. It’s medium in size, I personally don’t like to leave it on my countertop, because it looks too much. But it is lightweight so I can store it in the laundry room where I have extra shelf space (it’s right by my kitchen, easy to access) and can take it out whenever I want easily. Overall, I am amazed how powerful it is and how easy it is to use! My 5 year old was super excited to help make french fries with it, he thinks it’s his 😅 ... show more

This is my first air fryer and I must say I am impressed with what you can cook with this oven. We are using this at our shop (we have no stove/oven) and now I can cook just about anything with this thing! I like that it has several different cooking options: air fry, convectional, bake, broil or toast. It is simple to use too. It does not take up much space which is great. We now can have decently cooked food that is not all microwaved and the taste from cooking with this air fryer combo oven vs. a microwave is so much better. I would highly recommend this oven. This would make a perfect gift for a college kid to a first new home buyer. ... show more

I really wanted to like this air fryer, but there are just too many things that bother me. First, the outsides of the cabinet, especially the top, get hot, too hot to touch, which is dangerous in my opinion. Second, all of the dials are mechanical, not digital. It reminiscent of the early microwaves, which is NOT a good thing. Temperature cannot be set precisely, and the timer is "best guess" and I found myself using a digital kitchen timer to accurately measure cooking time. I also found I had to be VERY careful when removing items from the interior after cooking so that I didn't accident;y touch the inside of the open door, the sides of the interior of the cooker, and the cooking rack and trays. Finally, it does have several different cooking type settings, like bake, broil, air fryer, etc., but the very nice recipe book that comes with it just says to "cook" the various recipes, and doesn't give any clue as to which setting to use. Like, do I air fry french toast, or do I bake it or broil it? I'm an old man not familiar with cooking and I'm trying to get off prepackaged frozen dinners and for the most part don't have a clue what I'm doing, so it would really help if they did a better job in the recipe book. The main thing that bothers me is the mechanical timer and temperature knobs. Why would anyone make anything that doesn't have accurate digital settings these days??? ... show more

This is a very beautiful addition to my kitchen appliances. It is stainless steel with a gorgeous mirror finish and comes well equipped with air fry basket and broiler pan. This oven is easy to use. It will fit a frozen pizza (Freschetta,etc) no problem and cooks in about half of the time a traditional oven would take. I very pleased with oven-A+++ ... show more
