abunda_amazon_reviews This was a awesome tire pressure gauge until it stopped reading the pressure correctly. I ended up driving over 500 miles on low tire pressure because I trusted the gauge over what my truck tire pressure monitor system was telling me. I thought that there was something wrong with my TPM (tire pressure monitor) in my vehicle. I stopped by at a gas station to check the tire pressure and it was 10 psi less than what the gauge was reading. I opened up the gauge and noticed that there are 2 gears that are used to set the position of the needle. I was able to correct the reading by manually turning the needle which caused the gears to skip to the correct position. What apparently happened (at least what I suspect) is that when I released the air pressure on the gauge that the gears skipped and that causes it to display the wrong pressure. Since there is a pin that forces the needle to the zero position if the gear skips in one direction you will not know that this happened. In my case the gear skipped in the direction that forced the gauge to read 10 psi when it should have read zero PSI (after releasing the pressure by the button). This is a fundamental flaw in the design. There should be a way to prevent the gears from jumping. The releasing of the air pressure in the gauge can cause the gears to skip. Needs to be redesigned. I am thankful that I did not get a blow out driving over 500 miles at highway speeds on low tire pressure (remember the Ford Explorer). You should periodically check this gauge with another gauge to make sure that it still reads correctly. Hope this helps and prevents others from driving on over or under inflated tires. Check out the photos of the gears inside the gauge.;;Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2018;;2.0 out of 5 stars;;Works well until it does not. WARNING;;Seaside;;;I purchased this gauge to keep in my daily driver. I have a calibrated gauge stored in my tool box that is used for monitoring pressures in my racing tires. This gauge is listed as meeting the specifications of ANSI B40.1 Grade B. That means for the lower 25% of its range, 0-15 psig, and upper 25% of its range, 45-60 psig it should be accurate to within 3% of the gauge reading. For the middle 50% of its range, 15-45 psig, it should be accurate within 2% of the reading. (This is why the devices produced to this standard are often referred to as a 3-2-3.) The gauge that arrived today (very fast delivery) reads 2 psig low at 35 psig and 42 psig. These readings represent an error of 5.7% and 4.8% respectively. (I am comparing the readings to those from a WIKA 0-60 psig 3-2-3 that has been calibrated for readings between 25-45 psig and found to read 0.5 (~1.4%) low. If it holds this 2 psig error I can use it for my daily driver however I am not pleased with it not meeting the specifications listed.;;Reviewed in the United States on August 1, 2019;;1.0 out of 5 stars;;Does not meet accuracy claims;;John A.;;;**** Update 9-11-17... -- So i used this no more than 4 times. Go to pull it out of my saddle bag last night to use it and the tip came off.. The piece that fits over the valve stem. There is no fixing it at that point. What a waste of money. I just bought a Honda VTX 1300 and needed an accurate tire gauge that I could actually fit on the valve stem due to the wheels and location and extras on the bike- etc.. I must say it's comforting to know this thing does the job well. It swivels to where you can look at the pressure as you place it and press on the valve stem and also maintains said pressure after you remove it. Very handy. The ticks and spacing between the 10-20-30- etc allows you to clearly see what the pressure is to the T------as an example- I run 37psi on the back tire and 35 on the front. A personal preference given the cargo weight and handling. Then when you are done the little release button on the side releases the gauge back to zero PSI. The black part is heavy duty rubber is what it feels like. If I were to throw this at someone's head it would definitely allow me to run for my life as this thing would most likely knock the person out if it hit square on the face or head. That is how solid this little thing is. Now i'm not going to go out and put this on some sort of super measuring device which presumably measure these things. I am pleased with this device and the price and its accuracy. The bike shop wanted over 30 bucks for the same thing with a hose attached to it. This one fits nicely in my saddle bag so I can pull it out any time.;;Reviewed in the United States on May 16, 2017;;1.0 out of 5 stars;;Great little pressure gauge;;Joe DePucci;;;I would have given it 4.5 stars if I could. The gauge works well aside from one small issue that I’ll explain in a moment. Overall this is a great tire gauge. It appears to provide accurate readings when compared to other tire gauges. I like that it is durable made of metal and includes a black rubber protective shock absorbing cover around the gauge head. I even accidentally dropped the gauge once and the protective rubber covering prevented any damage at all to the gauge, it still works perfectly and reads accurately. The only issue is the small swivel base. I fully understand that the swivel base should be an advantage so that the gauge dial could be turned to face the user for easy gauge dial viewing while checking tire pressure. However that small swivel base is very difficult to hold onto which makes it difficult to place the gauge squarely against the tire valve stem to obtain a proper reading. It would help if the swivel base was larger so there would be more to hold onto, or just eliminate the swivel feature since the gauge holds the pressure reading anyway until the pressure release button is pushed so I can always look at the dial after obtaining the pressure reading.;;Reviewed in the United States on June 7, 2017;;4.0 out of 5 stars;;4.5 stars - Mostly VERY good aside from one small issue.;;Mr. Alacritous
