  • Nice solid and sturdy: The folding cleat is made of 316 stainless steel. In humid air or high-temperature weather, compared with 304 stainless steel or iron material, 316 stainless steel has stronger anti-rust and abrasion resistance.
  • Specification: The overall length of the folding cleat is 5 inch/ 12.7 cm, the total width is 1.73 inch/ 4.4 cm, raised height is 1.5 inch/ 3.8 cm. The distance from center to center of the two holes is 2.75 inch /7 cm.
  • Smooth & Constructed well: Smooth edges can avoid excessive wear or damage to dock lines. They fold flush and are constructed well. Folding cleats are designed to fold down flat into a low profile position when not being used to eliminate the tripping hazard of common dock cleats.

It functions as a cleat should, and when retracted is (reasonably) safe for hands and feet. You can count on it to stay up or down, but it has corners/edges that a traditional cleat does not have, and over time it might cut through your line, particularly if there’s a load on the line.

I got these for our ski boat with an open bow step-in set up. Basically when we have the boat beached we walk on & off the front of the boat. There were two horn style cleats that I constantly was hitting and bruising myself on when lugging gear & stuff on & off the boat. Hubby said "you know they are there, just dont hit them" to which I rolled my eyes and threw whatever was in my hands at him as I jumped off the boat after banging my leg again. Anyways - these have proven to be a leg/booty saver for me. They fold completely flat when not in use and easily pop up when needed. They were super easy to install and even the same footprint as the old cleats. They do not come with any gaskets so Hubby just cut one out of marine level vinyl we keep stocked in the tool kit. They look super nice and easily handle our 5/18 dock lines. Very very happy with them and so happy not to be sporting bruises all summer anymore. ... show more

I needed to add a couple more cleats for some bumpers, and wanted something unobtrusive when not in use - these work perfectly for that purpose.
