I bought these for my younger kids who love music. I don’t want them to have a phone or tablet yet but wanted them to be able to have some kind of music player like I did as a kid. Since we really don’t do cds and mp3s anymore I wanted a device that did not have a lot of apps for them to get on. This one is loaded with all the apps I wanted. Spotify, audible and the Libby app. The rest I deleted. It did also come with Google, but I deleted that too. It works pretty well. It is a little laggy but not enough to frustrate the user. The one thing I loved about this device, is that there is no App Store. This could be a problem for someone looking for something different for their child. But I love that they cannot download anything new or previously deleted apps. The battery is fairly good and it’s very easy to use. For the price, it’s perfect!

There is so much to like about this player. My ONLY complaint is that it can be a bit slow to load Spotify and Navigate it. Otherwise, is the best player I have tested to date. LOVE the touch screen functions. I usually test something withOUT reading the manual. I figure with nearly 40 years as a computer scientist and electronics engineer...if I cannot figure it out easy, the average user will be lost. I figured it out pretty fast and only needed the manual to set time. Not sure why did not auto update on Wi-Fi connection, since good designs do or give option. Anyway...once I figured out were to go (Clock App) was easy. I prefer 24 hour time too...easy. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections quick and painless. Seems to hold them well too. I first loaded the included mini SD card with my standard set of music from Hip-Hop, R&B, Rock and Country to test the limits of it's frequency range from low to high as well as its sound quality preproduction. I also tested the included ear bud headphones. Used the included music app, found my songs on the card easy...and hit play. IMPRESSIVE pass of these tests. As a musician and audio engineer I have a good ear for this. Great lows for this class of headphones. Mids were nice. I also tested several bluetooth headphones. Only suggestion I would have is a bit more loudness and the highs were a touch thin. Great selection of built-in apps and functions. You cannot install any app, but the selection covers more than any other players I have tested, so not a big deal. I think the Spotify for kids is a nice touch. But separate family accounts do the same thing in one app...if willing to pay for the family plan. SO have options now. I did not test this nor the many other apps like record, video, pictures...etc. Not what I got this for...just music. But seeing the quality of work in what I did test...I expect those to work great as well. But just an added bonus if I need them. GREAT LITTLE PLAYER!

I got the TIMMKOO MP3 Player to house my daughter's playlist so that she can play it when she's sailing or riding in the car. I also figured it would be good for her to listen to audiobooks on. Battery life is ok, it seems to last two days with moderate use. The player comes with various apps preinstalled on it and all you need to do is log in to begin using the apps. The problem is that the Deezer app kept automatically launching and prompting for login credentials no matter what app you were using. I had to eventually uninstall it. The processor on the MP3 player seems pretty underpowered for the Android OS it's trying to run as a lot of operations take like 30 seconds to respond. After a little bit of use its common to click on the screen to open a menu and wait for like 30 seconds or more for the device to catch up and show the menu. The PI Music app is also not the greatest, and frequently prompts for feedback and stuff and shows ads and stuff (some even show up as a fake nav bar) at the bottom. One thing that confused us was that when you went to the "Folders" option it didn't show anything in it unless you scanned the device for additional music under Settings -> Rescan Music Library. In our case, I had put a few MP3 files on the SD card and was expecting it to show up and couldn't figure out why. The other thing is that after it did scan and find the files it put it buried it in subfolders "storage -> 0000-0000 -> <mp3 files here>". When trying to hook up the player directly to my PC it doesn't work. You need to remove the SD card and put it into a memory card reader and load the files that way. I also tried the Audible app and although an icon appeared indicating that it was downloading the audio book, I couldn't figure it if it actually was, where it was being downloaded to or what the progress on the download was as I wanted it available for offline use via the app. The built-in speaker is "meh" so make sure you have some headphones or other Bluetooth device to listen through. Overall, the device offers a bunch of features, however, the use of freeware makes the whole experience sort of lackluster and has a low-quality feel to it. For the price I feel like they could do much better.
