Emerson was once a quality brand. For Starters; On/off button will most likely fail as it takes multiple presses to get it to turn off. the LED screen is hard to see what is going on, the lid to the CD player has issues opening. now for a 16 watt sound (8 watts per channel) it is fine in my small workshop. the Bass button does very minimal. The Aux Power cable is a wall wart, which is odd. Sadly, avoid this one IF this last a year I'll be okay with it but if you can go up in price point you'll be happier. Update: For some odd reason the Audio for the CD player has somehow puked out. I have to crank the knob to max to hear anything... Radio is fine but playing a CD is not happening. Less than 6 months and I have nothing... Avoid this item. ... show more

The unit is really nice. CD's sound great, the radio reception is good for the area we are in. Rural. The volume is okay but I'm used to a little louder and more bass. I would recommend this, for sure, and would buy it again.

This boombox is very 1980s. No remote. Who cares. Sounds awesome. Fills a room with sound fine. I have tried about 4 stereos from Amazon in the past couple of months. All had this terrible software enhanced bass sound. Too muddled and deep. They produced a dark, murky sound. The sound of this device is clear, and crisp. It has the "Sony style" xbass button. Sounds full, but not overbearing. An excellent choice for classical/jazz music. The true size is not listed in the description. It is approximately 9in high, 17in long, and 7in deep. It's a shelf stereo with a handle. Attached or detached speakers. All plastic, but not cheesy. Cassettes play perfect too. Auto shut off. Stores 20 AM or FM stations. You won't miss the remote. You will be in the same room with it anyway. For the oldsters out there, its functionality will be very reminiscent, and simple. All very 80s and easy. It actually could be an Emerson product from the 1980s. All of its functions were available circa 1987. Nostalgic, cute, and sounds very good at the price point. Plays tapes, CDs, and radio. No Bluetooth, but aux in for phone or MP3. This device is definitely for a retro-loving individual. Good choice for a smaller device that definitely does the job. Enjoy!! ... show more

Received boombox in a timely manner, delivered by UPS. Problem with this particular boombox is that I was NOT ABLE to tune in on any AM or FM station. Tried plugging in separate outlets, moving radio in different locations, and moving Antena on different points, but no reception, just total static. I did not attempt to use Cassette or CD.
