  • get rid of silly date box, give better instructions= 5+ stars
Dial Color: White Band Color: Two-Tone
The description says bracelet-style band but it is an expansion band. Nothing about how to shorten the band, or change the battery in the instructions, although you can watch YouTube videos about changing batteries- not the easiest to do, but if you are careful and have a little ability you can do it, even without watch maker's tools. I've never had to remove links in a band. Times just says take it to a jeweler- fine if you have one in the area that does these things, and you don't mind paying the extra. The back of the case at least tells you it takes a CR1216 battery- that is a little flat button 3V battery commonly found where I am. The date is ridiculous- this is an easy-reader type of watch which usually means you need slightly larger clear numbers - the date is tiny within the space the numeral 3 should be, so a lot of people will not be able to read it. It also has to be manually reset for every month less than 31 days- quite a nuisance, although once you learn how to do it, you can do it yourself-- if you can hold the watch and have a real or artificial "3rd hand" to hold the magnifying glass so you can see the numbers under good lighting while turning the tiny knob. It just is not worth it to me and I think the watch would look nicer without that little square hole where the 3 should be, so imo Timex ought to dispense with it and give us a few cents price break instead while having a less annoying, better-looking product. That said, the good part is that I am hoping this nice-looking but sturdy seeming watch will be as good as the similar ones I have had- for many, many years, through at least 3 battery changes now, and the batteries do last several years, although using the indiglo feature really eats batteries- I suggest not using it if you don't really need to, although it is nice when you do need it- usually the watch can run fine for several months after the indiglo stops working due to battery getting old, in my experience. I have to use Timex watches- I kill all LCD digital watches, and even other brands of analog watches in no time-any I ever tried would act goofy and die in short order. I say it is my electric personality as I get shocked all the time just touching things- like the shelves in a store. I also take gold plating off things- but not off these watches. All my life I have done fine with an analog Timex, and I do plenty of outside work with them. The previous watches survived years of getting splashed while working with irrigation or cleaning gutters or jarring work. They really do take a licking and keep on ticking. I also think it looks fine to wear out socially or to an office job, also, and has a second hand which is kind of needed if you work in medical. The only reason I ordered this one was that my old one once again needed the battery replaced and this time I was having trouble getting the back of the case opened- since it was old and a little scratched or worn due to rubbing here and there, after some 20+ years, and I wondered if I might crack the lens before I got the battery changed and the back cover on again so when I saw a good deal on the same style, I ordered it- and then I was finely able to get the back case cover off and the battery changed without damaging anything. Of course, right? Just get rid of the silly date box and do better on instructions and I'd give it more than 5 stars ... show more

  • The light is a bonus!
Dial Color: Natural Band Color: Brown
My favorite watch is the Timex Indiglo. Just push in the time-setting button on the side and it lights up with a soft glowing green light so you can see the time. I love the light feature on it for nighttime! It is my favorite watch and I have been using them for years. The leather strap usually wears out on me before the watch dies. I usually either buy a new band or battery to keep them going, but when both happen to need replacing at the same time, I buy a new watch like I did recently. With the large numbers and white face, it is easy to read. And yes it is water resistant. I accidentally get it wet frequently when doing dishes, but it keeps working! (It is not waterproof through and I would not submerge it in water.) Great watch! ... show more

  • LOVE ALL BUT THE DATE INDICATOR
Dial Color: White Band Color: Gold, Silver
I was so tired of my LUX and ALTA having to be charged almost daily. I went back to the old tried and true watch. I use it in the shower without problem. It has a light feature which is wonderful (middle of night wonderful). I usually buy very small face watches--this one is just a bit bigger, but actually better since I see the faster and better. The REALLY BAD thing is the date indicator. It is so small it is impossible to read. I really don't need it so I have not let it be a negative. I DID HAVE TROUBLE REMOVING LINKS ON THE BAND. I looked at quite a few You Tube videos without success. Finally I got in touch with the Timex website and within minutes was sent a PDF showing exactly how to remove them. NOTE: I had to give them the model number which is on the stand that comes with the watch. Overall, I am so much happier. I have just a watch! None of that other stuff. ... show more

  • Hope it lasts as long as the watch it is replacing !
Dial Color: White Band Color: Two-Tone
I had a Timex watch almost exactly like this one, that I wore every day. It finally broke after working perfectly for at least 25 years with only some battery replacements. I am not exaggerating. It seems like the only significant difference is that the band on this new watch is nicer than the old one. I have not checked it for water resistance, but the numbers are large enough to read easily, it keeps perfect time, and the light (which turns on when you press the stem) works every time. I don't know how long this watch will last, but I hope they do "still make 'em like they used to." ... show more

  • My Wife Loves It
Dial Color: White Band Color: Black
My wife's not a smartwatch kind of person. She asked me to just get her a basic wristwatch that's durable and easy to read. Obviously, that translates to "Buy me a Timex". She's really happy with this watch. It's big enough to easily read without being bulky-big. She loves the indiglo dial. She says if she does happen to have trouble telling the time (like she's not wearing her glasses) she illuminates the dial and can read it no problem. Plus, you gotta love the classic look of this watch. ... show more

  • Great Watch
Dial Color: White Band Color: Two-Tone
I bought a Timex about 30 years ago for about $15.00. Yup, it lasted all these years. It definitely "took a licking & kept on ticking". Bought this new identical Timex because I trust the product. So far my watch has not let me down. It keeps perfect time & looks good. The price has gone up but that's to be expected with inflation. It's still a very reasonable price & still a very good product. Thank you, Timex. ... show more

  • Perfect For Me
Dial Color: White Band Color: Gold, Silver
I have worn this style of Timex watch for years and years. My watch quit and the jeweler said it wasn't the battery. I tried to find it locally and couldn't, so I ordered it here. It came in two days and now I have my favorite watch again. I love this style of watch because it is easy to read in any light. My last one lasted at least ten years, so I can say they are quite dependable. ... show more

  • Watch is Great, but Wasn't Timely
Dial Color: White Band Color: Black
So, my watch broke, and I was delighted that Amazon could deliver a replacement by the next day. But they didn't. I received an apology, and an assurance that it would be delivered by the following day. But it wasn't. I went to the airport and to my mother's memorial service without a watch. Bummer. The watch was left on the porch, but not by the door as requested, and was therefore subject to any rain blowing in. So, I recommend the watch. Amazon's delivery of it? Not so much. ... show more
