  • You cannot replace to battery yourself unless you have "the expensive tool".
Color: Brown/Gold/White
This is a a great watch that I bought for my wife. She really likes it. However, the battery didn't exactly last the "up to 10 years" inference. It lasted about 9 months. No biggie, I guess, after all "up to 10 years" is "UP TO ten years" right? Well I just bought some extra batteries from Amazon for future use. Hey, why not? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to change a watch battery. After all, I've done this dozens of times with watches, mostly Timex. I got the back off with a little difficulty, but, I did do it. I put the new battery in and attempted to press the cover back on as in the past. I called Timex and talked to a very nice customer rep. He told me that owners of this watch cannot replace the battery, at home, as in the past. The watch back must be replaced with a special tool at a watch repair store. So, just be aware of this before buying any replacement batteries for this watch. Also, you better hope that your battery lasts more than 9 mos.......as inferred by their ad. 6-13-19. Additional information on the above. I took the watch to a jewelry/watch store in the next town. I explained the above information to the store manager and he took the watch to the repair room to put the back on it for me, using the proper tool. After working on it for at least 20 minutes, he returned and told me that he was not able to get the back of the watch back on. In his expert opinion the watch was defective. Possibly, machined wrong? A few days, later, a rep. from Timex called to discuss the issue. I told him about the experience with the watch repair store. They offered to pay the shipping and "fix" the watch for me. However, I would have to pay a $9 handling fee in addition to this. This was in spite of the fact that I was within the 1 yr. warrantee window. Since the watch had only cost me $30, I felt that it wasn't worth it. So, being "over the barrel", I declined. I was also concerned that the I would have the same problem again in the future with this same watch, because, it might be defective. Since it was still under warranty, I requested that they just send me another watch. They wouldn't do so. Please think long and hard before buying this watch. I'm sure it's still being made in the same (out of country) place. Timex is not your father's watch anymore........ ... show more

  • It's okay for the price.
Color: Black/Gold-Tone
This watch is...okay, for what you pay for it. I've had it for a few months now, and my thoughts are as follows: PROS: - Strap is holding up well despite everyday use. No chipping in the material yet. - Love the small size and versatility with different outfits CONS: - This is the loudest watch I own. I've never owned something that ticked quite this loudly. - THE STUPID DATE. This watch will not keep the date properly. A fair warning to you: if you have to adjust the date for whatever reason (particularly when it lists the "31st" in a month that only has 30 days), ONLY adjust the date by spinning the knob at its outermost setting clockwise/counterclockwise and going past midnight in whichever direction you need it to go, instead of using the "quick date" function with the knob's middle setting. I did the latter, and now this watch won't change the date on its own anymore via the 24 hour cycle. Manually changing the date every day myself is ridiculous, so I've just accepted that the date on this watch will only be accurate once a month. The bottom line is that I think I'd get another Timex watch in the future, but I wouldn't get one that reads the date ever again. ... show more

  • professional looking watch to allow me to easily obtain heart rates
Color: Honey Brown/Gold-Tone
I am a vet student, and wanted a simple, professional looking watch to allow me to easily obtain heart rates, etc. without having to pull out my cell phone. This watch fits the bill perfectly. Small and delicate, yet easy to read. Very lightweight and comfortable to wear... I hardly even notice I'm wearing it. The second hand actually "ticks" with each second, which I like... it doesn't move continuously like some watches I have seen. This makes it a lot easier to count seconds. The date display is handy, but you do have to remember to reset it every month. Indiglo lights up the entire face of the watch for easy reading in the dark. The only thing I wish were different about this watch is that there are so many notches between the numbers on the display that they are pretty much useless... I would prefer that there were 5 notches for each section to make it easier to read the minute hand. Personal preference, though. I disagree with the reviews complaining that this watch has a child-sized wristband. I found it to be pretty average. I am in my mid 20s and have a somewhat slender wrist, but by no means is it pencil thin, and I fit comfortably in the third or fourth setting from the smallest. At the largest setting, I can easily slide the watch over my whole hand. If you are a woman with an average build, this band should fit just fine. ... show more
