UPDATE as of August 2025: Mom has been super happy with her watch over the last 9 months! It still looks nice, has withstood hand washing, no staining, hasn't turned color on her wrist and still works perfectly. It also hasn't needed a new battery yet! :) ORIGINAL: I bought this for my mom after she purchased a few really inexpensive watches that didn't perform well or last. I got her the 23mm, stainless steel, solid silver color, stretch band version. Mom is 88 and while, ideally, she would have a dainty, delicate little thing for her little bird bones, I got her the bigger face with easy-to-read numbers. She does find this one easy to read and the indiglo light really helps her out in the dark, which is something none of her previous watches had. I have no data to report on how well it stands up to scratches or how long the battery lasts since I just gave it to her, but it's a Timex and we're going off of the good reputation of the name. The battery came already installed and was easily activated by the removal of a little plastic piece that had held it in an inactive state so it didn't run down. She was easily able to set the time by herself and required no further instructions, as anything mechanical or electronic so often does for her these days. There was a lot of discussion about the wrist band size in the product reviews and I was quite concerned about how it would fit, based on the wildly varying reports of different variations of similar watches, whose reviews were all lumped together. She has a small, delicate, wrist and I wound up taking it to a kiosk at the mall and having 3 links removed, which cost $20. It seemed to be a difficult task, even for a supposedly experienced watch worker with the correct tools, so I'm glad I didn't try it myself. I got a nice sale price on the watch of $29.99 (from the regular listed price of $63, in December, 2024), and think it was well worth both the sale and full price, even adding in the cost of the band adjustment. Mom had wasted much more than that by purchasing several very inexpensive watches, trying to save a few dollars. Batteries ran down quickly, bands broke, she couldn't read the tiny numbers, they turned color and left stains on her wrist, didn't stand up to the water from hand washing, etc. Not as many people wear watches anymore, since most of us have cell phones in our hands most of the time. But if you have an elderly loved one who really misses having an analog watch (even though they have an emergency call device with a digital time readout on the other wrist, lol), just go ahead and pay more than $12 for this watch. The others don't last, aren't reliable, need difficult-to-replace batteries very fast, etc., and the cost of multiple cheap watches mounts quickly to more than you'd pay for a Timex. I like this watch! The face is big, easy to read, but still attractive. I also like the band, which has alternating silver and gold colored metal. The effect is a bit art deco, which I like. Also, the band is fairly small. I have a tiny wrist, so that's what I want.

This watch is identical to one I wore for many years. I loved it and wore it all day every day. If I remember correctly, what finally took my beloved watch down was one of my parrot's interest in the band. I finally decided to quit being such a cheapskate and pay the little bit more to get what I really wanted, after wearing junk watches for years. I don't know if, over the years, people have gotten generally bigger so the band is now made longer than it used to be, or if my wrist is now smaller. It slides around a lot. My old one slipped to the side just a bit, but this one goes all the way around. I know from experience that a jewelry store will charge as much as the original price to remove links, so I will just live with it. It is a great watch, otherwise. I probably should have resigned myself to a buckle band again, but I like an expansion band so much better... If you have normal sized wrists, you will never regret choosing this watch! This is a great, durable, ladies watch if you choose to go analog in 2026. The band is terribly tight so if you have large wrist this may not be for you. I opted to replace ot with an inexpensive leather band. But over all it's very accurate, and made well. It looks far more expensive than it is as they choose a matte gold metal. It is nearly impossible to find Timex watches in stores. You really only see them at Christmastime. The quality is excellent. I love the Indiglo lighting for the watch face so that you can see it in the middle of the night just by pressing the stem on the side. This is my reliable go-to watch!

Great watch. I just wish I'd been able to specify my wrist size, so that I didn't have to have the band adjusted at the Jewelers. Watch comes in a generous wrist size. But the watch itself is a smaller, midsize, for women.
