  • A fantastic watch for men and women, too--and here's why!
Color: Two-Tone
Although this is billed as a men's watch, I'm female and have been wearing this watch for years. When one finally gives out or I break it, I order another one. Here's why: 1) Great looking. It looks good with almost everything on everybody, and fares equally well with casual up through moderately dressy. 2) Expansion band. Easy to slip on, but doesn't slip once it's on. One size fits most. 3) Water resistant, almost waterproof but not 100%. I actually used to swim 3X/week with this watch (not the one I have now, but a couple watches back, but this exact model), and it did great. After a couple years, it did start showing moisture under the crystal--so it's not entirely impervious to water. But if you take it in the shower or pool or get caught in a downpour, it's going to be fine. 4) Large face. I like how it looks (see #1 above), and it's also highly functional. Some of the procedures I do require timing, and this watch makes it easy both with the large face and numerals, as well as the sweep second hand. 5) Mix of gold & silver. Yeah, here's the girlie part. I wear both gold and silver jewelry, and like that this has both. That's all folks! ... show more

  • Easy to read, with old eyes.
Color: Two-Tone
I have always worn a dainty watch, but as I get older (81), and have macular degeneration, that's no longer an option. I got tired of people asking me what time it was, and I had to show them my watch, so they could read it. So I decided to try this Timex Easy Reader Watch, and it is wonderful. I got the two-tone so it goes with my jewelry, although it has more gold color than silver. The curve if the band makes it look like a gold bracelet when you wear it turned around. The dial is really big, with a white background, black hands, and real numbers, instead of dots, or roaman numerals. As for size, I have small wrists, but I like to wear my watch about 1-1 1/2 inches behind my wrist, and turned around so the dial is on the underside of my arm. This watch fits perfectly, it doesn't pinch, stays in place, and looks like an expensive piece of jewelry. It is big, but beautiful. I would highly recommend. ... show more

  • Terrific value in a watch that just tells you what time it is
Color: Two-Tone
I've owned two of these watches. Each has lasted about 3 years before getting so scratched up that I replaced it. I've worn them all day every day with few exceptions. I change the time twice a year (when beginning and ending DST) and they have kept time perfectly in between. I have never changed the battery. I've had the bands shortened slightly at a Walmart jewelry counter - takes less than a minute, a courtesy they're glad to perform. My watches have taken a lot of the usual day-to-day punishment with remarkable durability. The black-on-white face, unsexy though it surely is, can be easily read at a glance, including in low light. It's amazing that such a simple, quality product is still available. ... show more

  • Still great after 5 years.
Color: Silver-Tone
This watch is everything I expected or hopped for, for the $32 price. It arrived as promised, 2 day shipping with Prime, appropriately packaged, etc. Time Arabic numerals are easy to see, and the hour, minute and second hands are also easy to see. Some reviewers fault the stretchy band as being too small, too big, or pinches the skin or arm hair. I found none of that to be true. I'm a big guy, 230 lbs and 6' 2”; and the band fits perfectly. After 6 days of wearing this time piece, it is still keeping the correct time to the second (I compare the time to an atomic clock on my office wall). I know it's probably too early to make a judgement, but so far, it's perfect. UPDATE 5 Oct 2020. I’ve had this watch over 5 years. Wore it virtually every day. It still is keeping nearly perfect time with the original battery. I’m now swimming 2 times a week, and there’s no sign of moisture inside. There’s little I can complain about. The entire watch and band is still like new except for the knob on the right side that has lost its silver color, it’s turned copper color. Also, I’ve lost about 35 pounds over the past 2 years and my wrist is now smaller. So, the band is loose and allows the watch to slide around. I took it to a jewelry store and they would charge me $20 to remove a few links. Since the watch cost only $32 (now the price is $37), I didn’t have the links removed. Takes a licking, keeps on ticking. ... show more

  • Rates a 5, but band is too small
Color: Silver-Tone
I have been buying these inexpensive Timex watches forever and I love them. For that reason, I will rate the watch a strong #5, but I have a couple points for your education. My wrist measures 8 inches or 20 cm in circumference and their supplied SS band is one inch shy of fitting properly. Luckily, I have my old Timex watch SS band and I just switched bands....all is well. The brand new band would fit well for a child or woman's wrist. I will save it for parts to put on my next new watch. Second issue is that it was impossible for me to remove and replace the watch back to replace the old battery. Got the back removed with adequate persuasion, but I broke the front face crystal in applying pressure to re-insert the watch plate. For $31 for a new one, it is just not worth it to spend $20 for a skilled watchmaker to install a new battery. Thank you for good prices, Amazon ... show more

  • Good watch
Color: Two-Tone
My old watch was ... getting old - it had had a couple dings resulting in nicks and scratches, and most recently the stem wasn't always engaging the gears to set the time. So, it got retired and I looked for a replacement. This Timex is just what the doctor ordered. Its face is easy to read at a glance (even for someone with bifocals and likely needing lens surgery in the next year or two). The light feature makes it readable in the dark. The band is a perfect fit, and flexes easily to get it on and off. The only drawback is that the date numbers are a little too small to read easily, and I haven't found the trick of getting the stem "in the middle" to set the date. But, for me, that's small potatoes because I don't think of a watch as showing the date, anyway. So, overall, if you need just a watch, no bells and whistles and fireworks, why pay extra for them when this Timex is available at one of the lower price points for a men's watch? I give it 5 stars overall. (I didn't rate it for water resistance because I haven't had to 'test' that feature - and hope not to have to ever!) ... show more
