So I'm selling my 17" Dell and trying to get along with an old 2008 Macbook. Put a new SSD in, loaded an Ubuntu variant and was frustrated with it hanging when it ran out of memory (2GB). I purchased the upgrade for and installed it the other day and WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! This 11-year-old computer is as fast as any of the Chromebooks at the store! With a current operating system, I can use new all the new browsers (a problem with the old Mac OS) and other Linux apps. Ram initially came with a bad stick. However, replacement came quickly and the second set was just fine and even completed a memtest with no errors. My 2010 MacBook is now running fast thanks to the 8 gigs of ram and an SSD which I put in while I had it open.

The DIMM modules were used in a Dell Latitude 6410 computer to upgrade it from 4 Mbps to 8 Mbps RAM. They worked better than expected and They also fixed a problem we were having with the compute. The previous owner upgraded the computer and installed a 1067 Mhz clocking DIMM card instead of 1066 Mhz clocking cards. The computer was constantly giving us boot up problems. Mow it works great. This site says that this RAM is compatible with Gateway DX4870. It is not even physically compatible. The web site needs to be changed. Even the Amazon search engine selected it.

I've got an old knock around Dell Latitude with an i3 that only had 4gb of memory. This bumped it up to 8gb and I slapped in a cheap $30 240gb SSD and now it boots up in 9 seconds and is just as snappy as it can be.

Opened my laptop and found the factory DIMMs. Was able to purchase this larger memory based on this information. When the new memory arrived, I replace the 1G DIMM with the new 4G. Started the system with no issues and Windows showed the new memory. Certainly runs faster.
