Simply the easiest and cost effective performance upgrade for an aging 2012 Mac Mini with 8GB (2x 4GB) memory. I use the mini as my home lab computer with multiple Linux VMs (e.g. Pihole / Homebridge / Prometheus+Grafana) and 8GB was not cutting it anymore. Timetec lists this as memory for various older models of MacBook Pro, from the days when the RAM in those was still socketed. It works fine with those, but it works equally well on non-Mac systems that accept 8 GB DDR3L SODIMMs. (DDR3L is specified to be able to work at 1.35V, but it's also compatible with 1.5V operation so you can use it in systems designed for that voltage to the RAM.) It has worked perfectly for me in a Thinkpad, and the price was right. If you have a computer that uses DDR3 or DDR3L memory (not to be confused with LPDDR3, a different an incompatible standard) that's still good enough to justify a small upgrade expense, get this. Upgrading to 16 GB will improve the speed and smoothness of most things that you do with your computer, and you're getting it for a small expenditure. Side note: these are not old stock, DDR3L is still being made. When I bought one of these kits in November 2023, the modules that arrived have a date code from early September 2023. ... show more

I recently decided to give my old MacBook Pro (2012) a much-needed boost, and after a bit of research, I settled on the Timetec 16GB KIT(2x8GB) Compatible for Apple DDR3L 1600MHz. Let me tell you, it was a decision that paid off massively! Installation: The installation process was a breeze. The RAM fit perfectly, and I was up and running in no time. The detailed compatibility with MacBook Pro models (2011-2012), assured me I was making the right choice, and it didn't disappoint. Performance: Since the upgrade, my MacBook Pro feels like it's been given a new lease on life. Combined with an SSD upgrade I had previously installed, this RAM addition has turned my sluggish old MacBook into a speed demon. I bought these to upgrade a 2012 mid MacBook Pro. I went from 4 gb to 16 gb and the difference was very noticeable. Also very easy to install. no complaints. Will update if there are any issues with durability but hopeful no issues
