Works great if you brace what you are planing. Perfect for a start before sanding to get a surface flat or even shaping over longer areas.Sometimes you don't need the master tool just to knock a little wood off for a good fit.Works well enough on end grain, especially in tight spots when a singly blade planer won't do. Easier for fine controlled removal than a chisel also!

This is a good hollowing tool for concave curves: it is sharp, well balanced and very effective for cork. I use it to remove rough wood before using a finer file. It basically shaves off the wood. It is not a tool that requires a lot of expertise to use. For what it does, it does a good job. It is very effective to dig out curves, holes, etc.

When I see this small piece of tool, I think I will try to tidy up the stuck craft cave door. I'm glad I did it! It can be smoothly removed from all the clamping points on and off the door in a few minutes. Even my arthritic hand can hold it comfortably and exert enough pressure to complete the work. I turned the blade of the block plane round so that I was pulling instead of pushing, which I found easier and gave me more control.
