I purchased these for the small hive beetle infestation I encountered late summer. The traps effectively cut down on the hive beetles, saving my beehive from these terrible pests. This is my first year using these traps. There were no instructions included with the traps. While these were actually very simple to use, I had watch some YouTube videos to learn how these work. I would stress it’s important to make sure all the oil is wiped clean from the trap before placing in the hive. Even a small drop left on top of the trap will kill a bee. Also, important to make sure the oil doesn’t spill when you insert in to the hive. It was easy to use without spilling and very effective. The bees did put some propolis around the wooden frame and the traps but it was not difficult working my hive tool under the plastic to loosen before removing to replace oil

These are great if you put a little veg/mineral oil in the bottom tray..about 1/3-1/2 full..DON’T fill up to top or you will get oil on bees and kill them! I have found that by putting a drop of sweet orange essential oil in the oil that it attracts the little critters and the bees can’s get in. I thought the advertisement said these were reusable but they are not. They are sealed units and cannot be opened. The price was fair but I will replace them with reusable units next season for only pennies more. They work, use two per hive over your brood chambers where these rascals tend to go to lay their eggs and breed uncontrollably!

I really like these traps and they seem to work very well. At least, they have trapped quite a few beetles. You put some apple cider vinegar in the center compartment as bait and vegetable oil in the other two to ensnare beetles who come looking for food. The oil suffocates them and they die. When the trap gets too full, throw it away and replace it with a new one. The trap(s) slip between two frame, so they are easy to install.

These are a little harder to use than the beetle blaster, but you can add an attractant and you can reuse them. I tried the beetle blaster for a few weeks, and they just didn't work, main reason is because they wouldn't fit flush between the hive frames. and the beetles would just be under them. I just installed these and they fit almost flush, and the beetles should be able to walk right over the lip and into the trap. we set them up with canola oil and apple vinegar, I hope they work well.

These help capture hive beetles great! Place a little apple cider vinegar in the smaller compartment and then oil in the trap area. I like these better, as hive beetle sheets caught the bees legs all the time, this product is not issue for the bees
