  • The best joysticks you can get for steam deck.
Color: Tighter
Love these joysticks and the tightness improves the overall feel and aiming. These were incredibly easy to install and calibrate and they also have a better thumbstick than the original ones without needing caps or adhesive skins for grip.

  • Easy to install for first timers, feels like a gateway to more mods!
Color: Tighter
The tools didn't work as expected, but the actual sticks work wonders. I've never felt anything like in before with any joysticks before. They do take a bit of calibrating and delicate handling for installation, but if you're willing to do it or know someone who can, they're awesome. From removing back plate to completing the calibration, if nothing goes wrong, it shouldn't take more than an hour or two for newcomers to this sort of stuff! ... show more

  • Great Value better performance
Color: Tighter
I picked these up even though I already had GuiliKit Hall Effect joysticks I recently put into my Steam Deck OLED. I just wasn’t seeing the difference in performance I had hoped to with the zhuilykits sticks but I initially took the sage fought and picked up sticks for a company I was familiar with. I had also recently put TMR Hall Sticks in my sons Switch Lite because the price was right and I really liked how much tighter they felt while gaming. It’s hard to describe but anyone who’s spent hundreds of hours playing FPS’s knows exactly what I’m talking about. So I swapped out my new hall sticks for these TMR Hall Sticks and immediately noticed a positive difference. The sticks give me more precise aiming and movement that I just wasn’t getting before. I really do enjoy these for that reason. The also have a great overall look and pre-install you can already tell there was thought put into their design. The build quality is decent to good and as long as they keep this level of resistance over time I would be hard pressed to recommend anything else. I wouldn’t mind even more resistance but that might make playing non-FPS games more difficult to unplayable. They do swap pretty easy so for some going back and forth with different resistance might be an option. My only suggestion would be to go with a metal ring around the post. I have started to see this in some controllers and this would most defiantly make for smoother play seasons. I typically put rubber bands around the post anyways. But since I put these in I’ve been debating if I even have a need for this at this point so I’ve been living dangerously without. The value for the price will have me ordering more of these in the future for other handhelds I own as they become available. ... show more

  • Great hall effect mod, better than the Gulikit ones and no gamebreakers like Elecgear.
Color: Tighter
Finally a hall effect kit without weird issues. The original Gulikit sticks were plagued with QA issues that were reported on the Steam Deck subs and discord, and even if you got a perfect one, you had to deal with the square gate issue from the sensors having a larger range than the Deck actually uses (this can cause diagonal sensitivity issues on tight aiming angles in some FPS games). The Elecgear sticks had a response almost the same as the stock sticks, but there was a severe game breaking issue where pushing down middle stick click at maximum bottom deflection would cause the calibration to go off, cutting down maximum down range (it would no longer reach 32767) unless you went down while engaging middle joystick click again, something that didn't happen on Elecgear or stock. You can rest assured that these handheldDIY sticks do NOT have any of these problems whatsoever--I tested for the deflection issue and it does not exist at all. And the DIY sticks have a range calibrator which reduces the maximum range to better accomodate the steam deck. The gate still ends up slightly square, but much better than Gulikits (by a mile), which should make everyone happy (this was the only thing the Elecgear's nailed down perfectly), and I'm sure you can tune the gate even more if you have the precision of Commander Data. Note: you may be able to use thumbstick_cal to fine tune the results even more, although I did not do this, it's usually recommended whenever you go off stock for any analog, that you run thumbstick_cal or trigger_cal in desktop mode "Konsole" in general. We'll see how well these hall sensor sticks hold up over time. ... show more

  • They're not bad but not perfect either
Color: Tighter
I found the install and calibration rather easy. With that said, my left sick now creates a "click" noise when rotated in a counter clockwise motion at the 9 o'clock position. I tried reinstalling but no dice, still clicks. I suspect this has something to do with the wire that's pre soldered. Also these are advertised as "tighter" on the edition I purchased but I wasn't able to notice any difference over the OEM sticks. Otherwise they work as advertised. ... show more

  • Excellent Kit for Replacing Stock OLED Steam Deck Joysticks with Hall Effect
Color: Tighter
Overall it was easier to install than I was expecting. I watched the installation video that HandheldDIY uploaded to YouTube once before attempting the installation, and again while performing the actual installation. I had some weird binding on the first go on the left stick so I took the stick out and tried again and voila, problem solved. The calibration process is easy to perform if you take your time and follow their instructions. I liked that the kit included all of the tools needed for the job making it a worry free affair from start to finish. I like that they do indeed feel a bit tighter than the original joysticks and the dead zone is much smaller as well. I also like the cleaner look of the black sticks on my LE Steam Deck OLED (replacing the orange ones). Overall I'd highly recommend if you are looking to replace your stock sticks due to drift or just for a tighter feel. ... show more

  • Best SteamDeck upgrade, if you get a working pair
Color: Tighter
I had to return a few times to get a set that works correctly. Once you get a working pair, this is the best upgrade you will make.
