Love the features Tiger have vs my old security camera. It was easy to install but a little difficult to configure but Tiger remotely took over my account and fixed it asap. They even followed up to make sure I was ok. As everything some one buys it takes a little getting use to , but one you have it you have it. ... show more

Easy to set up, works great with my old night owl security camera system. However I do feel like the interface needs and update and could be smoother. Overall it works great.

  • Easily Disconnect System Components
Size: 1TB
Recently, we had occassion to replace most of our home security system due to damage caused by a nearby lightning stirke. We upgraded our old DVR to the TIGERSECU model which is the subject of this post. To facilitate the rapid isolation of all components when lightning threatens again, we redid the cabling and power supply arrangement. NOTE: Surge protectors help, but the only GUARUNTEE against damage is complete isolation. The photos that follow show how this was done and the products used. Each photo is numbered with a corresponding explanation below. The folks at TIGERSECU are top notch. My questions were answered promptly and thoroughly via email. If you're looking for customer service as it should be (along with great products) this is the place to go. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 Complete set-up. Open kitchen is behind camera with sitting and fireplace areas beyond cabinet. Have 8 cameras total. PTZ is in upper left of this 4-pane format. 2 All DVR connections go out the back of cabinet thru the horizontal opening. Main power strip is located on top shelf behind the glass doors. Plugs into a wall outlet out of view to the left of cabinet. Pulling one plug disconnects all electrical. 3 Larger view of wiring with left side of cabinet pulled out. Video (yellow) at the top and power (red) at the bottom. PTZ is to the right. Arrangement provides plenty of room to quickly disconnect all video and power from the DVR. The 9-way power splitter (See A below) allows for a single plug into the power strip referenced above. 4 Closer view of the 7 HD video connections and the PTZ. The coaxial jumpers (see B below) allow for easy connections out the back of the cabinet. 5 Closer view of PTZ connections…..video on left, controls on right. The male (top) and female (bottom) RS485 connectors (see C below) easily snap together and come apart with a gentle tug. 6 Demonstrates the futility of trying to disconnect everything directly from the DVR. I’ve pulled the DVR to the back of the cabinet into the opening to provide a clearer photo. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A 9-way power splitter (Amazon -- TIGERSECU Security Camera Power Adapter with 9-Way Power Splitter, 12V 5A 100V-240V 2.1x5.5mm Power Supply) B 8” Coaxial jumpers (Amazon -- XINGYHENG 4Pcs BNC Coaxial Crimper Jumper Connector Cable RG174 BNC-59 Male to Female Nickel Plated Coupler Extension Coaxial Cable with Copper Pin Fixed Inside for Broadcast Video and Camera) C Male/female RS485 Phoenix connectors (Amazon -- Tcenofoxy 5.08mm Male & Female 2 Pin Phoenix Connector Screw Terminal Block) ... show more

  • Best out of 5 Tested CCTV systems!
Size: 0TB
I went through 5 different CCTV systems as i make review videos on YouTube. out of 5 i tested this is the best you will get for the price. cell phone software = 95+% ease of use = 98+% set up 92+% customer serves = 110+% So can you get better? YES but not for this price. if i had a choice i would have gone with a 16 cam system so i could expand when needed. also spring the money an max out the HD capacity an get the 8TB if you got the money. Definitely get at least 1 PTZ in a high traffic area and a IP cam as well. Its been running so far for 6 months with no problems. it also worked with my existing cams as well so i didnt have to change them. The only problem i had was with email push set up but thats not important to me. YES i do recommend this or better from this company. PS: NO i am not being paid for this review nor was it sent to me free to review. i actually brought it to replace 5 other junky dysfunctional systems. ... show more

  • Clunky ripoff
Size: 0TB
This "TIGERSECU Super HD 1080P 8-Channel Hybrid 4-in-1 DVR" is clunky, slow, and feels barely functional. It struggles to view a single video playback and will frequently skip frames while doing so. When recording with motion detection, it sometimes decides to trigger a motion event when the area with motion is eliminated from motion detection. When looking at the basic features of playback, it's incredibly lacking, giving no ability to simply view the video files in a folder as an option, but instead gives a timeline with lines you sometimes can't even click on because the motion of the mouse cursor may skip over the single pixel of that line. You can individually select the hours/minutes/seconds for playback from their respective boxes, but that process is far more lengthy to do than clicking the timeline. Even when playing back the video, you'll find issues with playing at a normal speed if you've decided to speed through some of the footage, or rewind it, then return to a regular playback speed, as the only way to return to a regular playback speed is to pause the video, then click play. However, doing so can then cause the playback to halt for a few seconds as it's supposedly playing it, then skip over those seconds of footage when it finally decides to show the video rather than a still image. If that's not bad enough, it can't even keep track of time! Sure, you can set the time and date, but it's essentially useless because it'll slowly drift and become inaccurate. I have a 20-year-old digital alarm clock that can keep track of time without any problems, yet this thing will grow to be about 1 minute ahead of time with about every passing week. So, every few weeks or so, I have to reset the time on it to be correct. I told them about this issue about a year ago, so they've had plenty of time to fix it, but they apparently don't care, because their newest firmware for it was released, according to their site as I'm posting this, 9 months ago, and it didn't fix it. Their only response to this was to tell me to connect the DVR to a server so it can automatically update the time settings. NO! How about you actually program something functional and not have it feel like a high school project! It should be capable of keeping time WITHOUT an internet connection! Overall, this feels like a $20 toy being sold for 6.5 times that cost. I'm tired of resetting the time, I'm tired of motion detection triggering a recording when something in an exempted region moves, I'm tired of the clunky interface, and I'm just tired of how dated and cheap the whole thing feels. You can't even give it a great deal of accuracy for that motion detection, nor is it capable of discerning specific shapes. All you can do is toggle large squares and hope it actually decides to cooperate when those squares are disabled. Even then, it's not possible to see WHICH of those squares is where the motion is being detected. Oh, it's also not possible to enter any presets beyond 127, so if your camera has a function outside of the range 0-127, as mine does, you can't use that function. It's also not possible to manually reset it without completely unplugging it, or by changing the scheduled automatic reset time so it triggers immediately after you set it. The only means of manually resetting it is to click its "Shutdown" button in the "Maintenance" window, then you can unplug it and plug it back in. Even the remote for it has been utterly useless, so it's something I didn't bother with after the first day of having the thing. No idea how this is considered a good DVR, as all the information I found about it before my purchase claimed it to be. This is an atrociously pathetic DVR that no one should buy. I demand better, so I'll NEVER be purchasing anything from Tigersecu ever again. ... show more
