Ok, this is MY VERY FIRST TIME trying PODS. (Yes I know I'm a little late in the game). I have to say I LOVE THEM! I was normally a tide liquid user and I usually, well I am one who likes to put in MORE SOAP. That was not real cost effective when I was getting 10 loads out of a jug of detergent. LOL These have me IN CONTROL, like being on a laundry detergent diet! LOL The laundry comes out smelling GREAT with just one, (My only complaint is, its doesn't smell exactly like the tide with the downy liquid which has a MUCH better scent) and oddly, MUCH CLEANER than with liquid det. I don't know the how or why of that powerful little pod, but I had some things that just were NOT getting all the way clean, and they are now! Now I have not tried these in a cold water wash but once and did have to shake a little white stuff /flakes off a few things, but they fell right off. WIth hot water, they just disappear! The lid was NEAR IMPOSSIBLE to get off! And once off NEAR IMPOSSIBLE to get on! And now I can just sort of lift it without pushing the tab. NOT what I would call child proof, but it is, at least, at first, VERY adult proof! (At one point I thought I was going to have to get a screwdriver to pry the lid off or break the tab!) if I had children, I WOULD NOT BUY THESE. I have dogs, and even that worries me, though I'm sure in one bite they would spit it right out. But if you have a home with curious mouthy puppies, be careful and for a home with young children due to lid design, and they way they look, no. Not unless your laundry area is somewhere where your kids NEVER GO. Still, its a worry as they look too much like CANDY. So one star off for that and for it NOT smelling like my liquid tide with downy. Still, I am VERY IMPRESSED and have found a new laundry room best friend that I will repurchase!
