    • Great scent that cleans and freshens laundry
I am very glad I found this new Gain Odor blocker scent. I have been a long time Gain original scent detergent user but for me, with a newly acquired HE washer, this was the solution I needed. At first I feared I would miss my Original scent Gain. No worries. This is even better. Pros: This detergent does have a fairly strong scent upon opening container but it is not objectionable and is as attractive a blend as any scent spray. It smells really clean. I did talk with the manufacturer about amount to use (measure with the cup!) and found that the regular Gain detergent that is picked out and sold to me by the closest big box store for curb pickup is totally unsuited to HE washers. Yes, I do always specify HE detergent. My washer was leaving a bit of sticky, stale film on my laundry. Frustrating beyond belief. I now know that is from too much suds action. This HE Gain not only smells great but cleans beautifully. Laundry smells fresh and retains that scent for a long time. Even packed away, the laundry scent shows longevity. I enjoy opening my closet and noticing a fresh scent. It is not overpowering and causes no skin irritation nor itching for me or my husband. The jug is a bit heavy but it has a large capacity and is, I believe, made to be more sustainable in the plastic quality. Cons: Honestly, despite the handy jug spout and the push button valve above the container for a no mess pour when placed on its side, I always find it a bit difficult to pour the precise amount into the cup. I am possibly shorting my measurements just a bit to prevent an overflow or waste. I am sure that is just me. Summary: A quality detergent from a solid company in a delightful scent.     • A Little Goes a LONG Way, and this product alleviates the need for additional laundry scent products
I use a splash of this in each load of my laundry as an enhancement and adjunctive to my regular laundry detergent, which is generally a lower-cost detergent such as Arm and Hammer or Purex. This splash of Gain gives my laundry such a strong, fresh, long-lasting, and pleasant smell that other laundry detergent simply do not, and allows the more expensive Gain to last much longer than if I were using the full amount per load. The odor-fighting ability of this Gain detergent has been strong enough to overcome my teenage son's sports and gym clothing, my workout clothing, my husband's stinky and sweaty clothes from working outside in the yard, etc, which is quite impressive and very much appreciated! Not only does this Gain detergent neutralize and remove these odors, it replaces these odors with a strong, fresh, and aromatic scent that is durable and long-lasting! Don't be turned off by the price of this product, because you can just use a small amount per load in addition to a less expensive primary deteegent to save some money yet still get the absolutely worthwhile benefits and value of this Gain detergent. It's also cost-effective in that it alleviates the need for any additional laundry scent products, which can be expensive. ... show more

    • Better than the original with almost the same scent
I usually buy gain original sent because the options of smells are getting out of control haha I stumbled upon this detergent because of a sale that Amazon was having. I like that it has odor defense so I decided to order it. It smells great- and very similar to the original sent and I have noticed the laundry actually smelling more fresh for longer. Quality is always good with gain but it my opinion this is my new go-to. It has removed stains that I have treated with actual stain removing products. I have no skin irritation but I have with other gain scents that’s why I was using original. Not sure environmental friendly ratings on this but I trust gain because they have been around for a long time. I like the large size because it fits under my washer (with pedestal) but some brands don’t. Over all I’d recommend this. And will be buying again. ... show more

I absolutely love Gain + Odor Defense Liquid Laundry Detergent! It not only leaves my clothes smelling incredible but also does an amazing job getting rid of tough odors — even from gym clothes and towels. The scent lasts for days after washing, which makes laundry feel so much fresher. A little goes a long way, and it works great in both cold and warm water. I’ve noticed that even older clothes smell brand new again after washing with this detergent. It’s also gentle enough that it doesn’t irritate my skin, which is a huge plus.
