I use it in my water to soften it so cleaners a laundry detergent work better. Put it in a spray bottle with some hot water and it makes a great effective grease buster, add some Dawn and WOW! You've got surfactants and softer water and a super duper grease busting recipe. It doesn't take a lot either. 1 small squirt of Dawn, and a teaspoon of washing soda to 32 oz of warm to hot but not boiling water. I would test a small hidden area if you're not sure about color fastness. I would also test aluminum in an inconspicuous spot, or anything for that matter. Try it on grease spots in the driveway. I know it absolutely does wonders for laundry and stripping the gray out of white and all other colors to. It removes the build up from clothes washed in hard water. It also helps remove stains. One warning wear gloves this is the exact opposite of acids. Itcan lower the PH of water to 10 - 11 depending on how much you use, which can do a number on bare Be careful with it, follow the directions on the package, and you will. Have a cost effective product good for many different uses. I'm sure there are other ways to use it that I haven't discovered yet. I make my own home made laundry soap bc it works great and it smells good and all in all it's cheaper to do so. Google it and you can make your own too.. I'm not thrilled about powder laundry soap except for what I make. I don't have to use much to wash up a load. This is WAY cheaper on Amazon than at my local stores. Quick shipping! ... show more

This is a wonderful laundry booster. I used it on some dingy whites and wow they came out so much brighter and whiter without having to use bleach, works on stains too. I’m very happy with this purchase. I can use much less laundry detergent and add this and it works so well.

I used this product to make my own homemade laundry soap as my son start having a reaction to name brand we were previously using (even the “free & clear” kinds. It worked like a charm, he is no longer itching and rash is gone. I know it worked because when we went to the doctor about it, we turned down the steroid option. I do suggest if you plan on using it as I did, to make sure you mix all the ingredients (I only used dry ingredients) very thoroughly. I have hard water and have tried so many things to get my clothes soft and bright again, and this is the only thing that has worked for me. I have a front-load HE washer and put 1/4 to 1/4 cup directly in the drum while using my regular detergent in the detergent compartment for each load. I was AMAZED by how well this works. My clothes come out super clean and very soft. For whatever reason they also don't take as long to dry. Maybe it's because the washing soda removes residual detergent, I'm not sure. My whites are whiter than ever, my towels are back to feeling soft and fluffy, and my sheets feel great! The inside of my washing machine has also been sparkling clean since I started using this. I used to get some mildew in the rubber portion near the door and that's gone. This has been a total game-changer for me. ... show more

Have used this product for years! Then... I forgot about it. When I worked near chicken fryers I never could get the odor of "fried food" out of my clothes, this product did the trick. Also, it will get rid of stubborn oil stains and spots on clothing. Reduces need to increase detergent for effective cleaning.
