So I got this controller purely for pc gaming so if you’re wondering about console connectivity and performance check other reviews, but if I really had to say, it seems it would work perfectly for console; but please make sure you either own, or buy a longer usb c cable for it since the one it comes with is short. It’s like 3 ft. it does connect wirelessly, though, once it’s hooked up using the cord for first use. So I looked at a lot of different controllers, but it’s too big a sea, so I decided not to be dogmatic about this, and to get this one since my friend referred me to it and I also like the design. Of course, it has good reviews and seemed nice. It’s cheap, and for me came overnight. After using it for a bit it feels exactly like original DualShock4 controllers from Sony, at least 99.9% accurate. I genuinely am shocked(no pun intended) at how accurate, and solid this feels compared to og. It’s also very light. I was worried that since it’s much cheaper it might be kinda cheap feeling and garbage, or maybe there would be some features missing, but as far as I can tell everything is there, from the shoulder triggers (L2 and R2) being complete like OG ps4, to the L3 and R3 buttons working and feeling nice to press. (Watch video I made) I can’t speak on the 6-axis usage but since everything else worked flawlessly I would like to assume it does work properly. As far as performance goes, all the buttons feel solid and clicky, not mushy (except the R2 and L2 since that’s how they are meant to be, obviously) the d-pad works well, all shoulder buttons are good, and like I said the L3 and R3 buttons feel nice, maybe even nicer than og. Also the actual joysticks feel great, quite responsive and feel slick and smooth just like OG controller. (Again watch video. Also sorry if I forgot to move the joystick, I promise they are smooth and nice) I also was able to successfully connect not only with the wire, which tbh was most straightforward since it was literally plug and play, but ALSO wirelessly. I tested it on my windows pc and my iPhone. All you do, in case you don’t know, is hold down the SHARE button and PS button for 3 secs and it will flash quick. Go to Bluetooth settings and pair em up and it took just a few seconds and it worked well. Now I was using it wired at first on my PC so I can’t speak on the battery life yet but according to reviews it seems solid, at least a few hours. I’ll probably update the review and let everyone know later. The light bar works well, nice and bright, and the colors are exactly like the og ps4 controller. the shape of it also seems exact, nothing that I could really tell apart. There’s also the EXT port on the bottom as well as headphone jack. I haven’t used either but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work properly. The only thing that seems to be missing is the speaker on the front, as there are no visible grills like on OG ps4 controller. For me not a dealbreaker bcuz I’m on pc, but maybe you do care. I genuinely can’t think of anything wrong with this besides that. Only other thing is the L1 R1 buttons can kind of feel a bit plasticy/a bit cheap, but it’s only a lil bit, and not a dealbreaker, just a minor quirk that I noticed, but I really just don’t care as much about that because everything else about this blew me away So, if you’re looking for a new controller that is 1, cheap, 2, good quality, and 3, a good replacement for your ps4 controller, this is it. I highly recommend getting this because I was a bit skeptical I wouldn’t like it, and it’s the exact opposite. So if you feel the same way I did, then don’t. I genuinely reccomend this, even over the og, just because of the value you get; you get literally the exact same controller but with a cool design and so much cheaper. If I had the option, I’d honestly likely get this one. Unless you’re rich and have money to throw away on for og controllers, then do it but honestly just save ur money. Once I use it long term, like at least a month or so, I’ll update the review and see if there are any issues like stick drift or buttons not working as expected, but according to one reviewer of this controller, 9 months of use had no effect on it so I’m pretty confident, but you never know. One last thing. Unless others got like a defective product, I am confused as to why some seemed to have had a bad experience with this controller, like one person said the cable was completely useless but idk. I wouldn’t listen to them, but even if you do have issues you should be able to just return it.

Controller worked great initially. High hopes were dashed though when the controller started to randomly lock up. Meaning it would randomly freeze on whatever input you were putting in at that time. It wouldn’t unfreeze, holding the button for any amount of time wouldn’t reset OR turn off the controller. The only way to reset is to plug it into the system and turn on another controller to take over the “player one” spot. Then it will reset and work. Until it does it again. It doesn’t seem to be any particular amount of time before it does it either. It’s happened after 30 seconds and I’ve gone several hours without it being an issues. Besides that this co troller works well when it decides to. Battery life is really good though.

Included USB cable is useless and does not work to sync controller. It is a charge only cable. Any other good USB A to USB C with data will easily sync it to your console for first use. Other than that, controller seems like a great bargain and works well; at least if you have a cable on hand that works to connect it to your console

I'll preface my review by stating I've never used this controller with an actual PlayStation 4. I use it exclusively for PC gaming, so if you're wondering how well it works with the intended console, you'll want to look to other reviewers who can speak to that experience. I prefer the symmetrical, centrally-placed analog sticks of PlayStation controllers to the off-center Xbox-style design that places the D-pad between the sticks, so for years, I've used DualShock 3s and 4s as my PC gaming controllers. Lately, however, I've decided that the official controllers are too expensive for their brief lifespans (I pray for Hall effect sticks to become the standard over ALPS), and decided to try out this cheapie. I've had mixed experiences with third-party PlayStation controllers in the past, with most being decidedly subpar, but this one is shockingly good. Buttons feel good, L1/2 and R1/2 feel good, and even the L3 and R3 functionality (pressing in on the sticks as an additional button), which many controllers struggle to make comfortably and responsively, feels good. Vibration and trackpad work as expected. I haven't played anything with Sixaxis controls on this thing, so I can't comment on that. There are a few issues. The tops of the analog sticks are VERY concave, which feels weird when you're accustomed to the rounder DualShock caps. For me, it felt a little rougher on the thumbs with extended play. The battery life is decidedly inferior to the real deal; I normally play wired so I don't really care about battery life, but you might! Finally, and this is a really minor thing, whatever ink or paint the manufacturer used to label the buttons doesn't hold up. It's wearing off fast, like the lettering on some cheap keyboards. If you're a veteran of Playstation controls, you know where your triangle, circle, square and X live and blank buttons aren't going to slow you down, but it may annoy the less familiar or those who find it aesthetically disagreeable. It's interesting that the product picture shows blank buttons to begin with, whereas my controller came with labeled buttons but they're rapidly GOING blank! Aside from the minor stick and button-label quibbles, and the potentially larger issue of battery life if you're going wireless, though, this thing is VERY close to proper DualShock 4 performance at a much more palatable price... at least as far as PC gaming with DS4Windows, mostly via Steam, is concerned. For any potential compatibility or other issues when using this controller with a console, you'll have to check other reviews, sorry!

The charger that comes with the controller doesn't work and had to find one that works and use the Bluetooth pairing to pair it with my PS4 console that was a big hassle. Other than that it's a good product I recommend if you need a new controller.
