Laptop feels well put together and sturdy. Easy to take the back off, literally just a screws and a spudger to remove the back shell. Memory and NVME (1 free) slots are easily accessible. 1 star off though because the 32gb ddr5 is 1 stick of ram and if you want to upgrade you're going to want to buy a 64gb kit as ddr5 can be very particular about matched sets and just buying one 32gb stick to expand is a gamble, and with the rising price of ram I don't feel like gambling. Laptop survived stress testing, the screen is fantastic, bright and vibrant, and has a good assortment of ports including a mini display port. The Windows OS install is refreshingly bloatware free. Linux install goes fine except for RGB keyboard support as Clevo keyboards aren't well supported on Linux yet, but that's not Thunderobot's fault in the least. And while not detrimental to me, in fact it's awesome, others should be aware the zero 18 is massive. The cooling alone adds inches to the back. And while this means it's quieter and cooler than most gaming laptops of similar size you will need a larger backpack if you're used to 16" and 17" laptops. Other than the memory my only real gripe is the size of the keyboard, for such a large laptop the keys are tiny, so much so that it takes some getting used to. So all in all it's a great value for what you're getting and I would recommend the Zero line to anyone looking for a solid laptop. 17" tuffbook for scale. ... show more

I recently played some games on my friend’s new Thunderobot laptop, and honestly, I was skeptical at first. I’d never heard of this brand before, but wow — the performance blew me away. The Core Ultra 9 275HX and RTX 5080 combo is insanely powerful. Games ran ultra-smooth with no lag at all, and multitasking felt effortless. Everything was fast, responsive, and stable. The design looks sleek and premium, with solid build quality and nice RGB lighting that isn’t overdone. The display is also stunning — bright, vibrant, and easy on the eyes even after hours of gaming. After that experience, I’m seriously planning to get one for myself. I’m just waiting for the big Black Friday Thunderobot sale to grab it at the best deal. ... show more

My son loved this computer until it broke after two months of ownership just shy of the 90 day return window. Customer service would not answer us and we had to go thru Amazon to get a refund. We just wanted to get the computer fixed. The company only gave us a partial refund after going thru Amazon claiming a "restocking fee" applied because it was just shortly after the 90 day window. Very disappointed and definitely would not recommend buying from this company. The computer itself could go either way - we may have just gotten a bad one. ... show more

excellent machine except for the lighting software. the keyboard lighting is tied to the lighting program while it should be completely independent of it. every time i reboot, i have to relight the keyboard and shut off all the other cosmetic lights; it's aggravating, to say the least. other than that, it's a solid machine. ... show more

Ended up purchasing the 5080 variant with 32gb of RAM and 2tb SSD. Worth every penny. Laptop is fast, CPU and GPU temp are around 80c playing Warzone. Had everything turned up to high/ultra settings and it performed flawlessly. At first I was a little wary of the build quality, but was pleasantly surprised at how well built the laptop is. There is a bug in their control center app that controls the keyboard lighting where custom config doesn’t work. There is no way to configure individual colors per key. The reason I’m giving it a 3 star is the description says there are upgradable slots for SSD. After confirming with customer service, upgrading the RAM or adding a second SSD will void the warranty. They should put that in the description. Alienware, which I also own, does not have this restriction. ... show more
