I just had this awning installed the other day. Love it so far! The direct mount brackets worked great for my van and I was happy that the arm support brackets were included (which I didn’t think would be an option for my van but they surprisingly worked perfectly!)

    • No Awning bead for camper awning extrusion
This is Identical to a Thule Omnistor 5200 EXCEPT there is NO awning rail bead. Won't work on a camper unless you mount it to the roof with "L" brackets or mount it to the wall of the camper. Just an FYI, Thule does NOT sell the omnistor 5200 in the U.S. If you want an omnistor 5200 for a camper you have to buy directly from a distributor or camper dealer and the Imported awning is called Thule "Crown". It is imported solely by Lippert Components and NO one else in the US. Lippert has the monopoly on them here. The cost from Lippert Components is close to double the cost of the same exact Thule Omnistor 5200 if you were to buy it in Europe and bring it to the US. ... show more

Overall it is a great product. Installation is a breeze. A few minor things. 1- handle is easy to get stuck if being pressed hard likes another user commented; 2- metal screws are too weak. I broken two of five easily. One thing please be careful before installation: the end back plates need to be placed exactly as instructed else you will have troubles to put metal screws on the bottom at the end of installation. The awning looks great. It’s pretty heavy but that’s expected for a 10’ awning. DOES NOT COME WITH MOUNTING BRACKETS OR HARDWARE. After buying and getting literally just the awning, I searched the web for hours trying to find a way to mount this thing to my van. Ordered roof mount adapters for over $150 and still don’t even have a way to attach the awning to the adapter. So I need the original wall mount to mount to the adapter bracket to mount to the roof. Sheesh. Save the time and order one you can actually attach to your vehicle ... show more

    • Confusing mounting option
There are at least 3 different versions of this awning relative to mounting the reviews are a mix of them. The version I received 490011 is for a direct wall mount not direct van roof. I recommend the generic track mount for anyone with a sprinter. The direct roof mount w/o tracks is horrible. The direct into factory track mount is what I wanted but could not figure out how to get. I will.make my flat mount work with vantech track sliders. ... show more
