Today will be the 3rd day that I've seen them to work. So far, so good! I remember them being more comfortable out of the box though with the first pair I'd gotten years ago? But after just 2 days I can already feel these breaking in some, that being said they're going to be as comfortable if not more so than the last pair of Thorgood boots I had..... Friendly advice, im true to size 9.5 and got these in size 10 for men, go up a full size!

One of the best work boots money can buy

I've had these boots now for a little over a year. They've been through 1 midwest winter, and they've came with me to 3 different jobs. I always bought cheap $80 Walmart boots and then one day I decided it was high time I actually invest in a nice pair of boots that would last me more than a year. They have a VERY long break in period. If I recall correctly, it took like 3 weeks of everyday use before the soles started to soften up and the sides became less rigid. Overall though, very good boots. Now to the guy who complained about his not even lasting a year because he works in some industry with lots of water; yeah these boots aren't fully water proof. You gotta get some water proofing stuff with the boots if you want them last. Mink oil works the best. I don't think they would have made it through last winter had I not went out and got some mink oil and gave them a bath in it.

18yo son started an adult welding program and I wanted to set him up right to start his career. He can be impossible to shop for but these got an easy nod of approval. Love the quality of the materials, and that they come in wide sizes. They look great on him and he hasn’t ever complained about the weight (he’s new to wearing steel toe) and no complaints about them being too hot. To be fair, he started in July in Arizona so everything is hot, but at least he isn’t ripping them off in the car for some slides. Great boots, highly recommend

Really nice work boot

There are some issues with these but for the most part they are really nice and feel good not nasty smells or overly sweaty. Speed lacing is really nice compared to tying ever time. They take a bit to really break them in but they will feel better with some time. I am size 10 and they fit pretty well but I had to use moleskin tape but that didn't save my heel for long and so I switched to using 2 socks one merino wool and one medium/heavy weight cotton sock after which makes it a tighter fit but completely saved my heel from being obliterated. I really like these boots and once they eventually disintegrate I will either try some other ones or just get another pair since I know they are working for me.

Great Boots While the Lasted

So I bought these guys after doing some research on a good pair of boots and these Thorogoods had great reviews of people saying they lasted them for years. I was hoping that they would last me just as long but unfortunately I got the short end of the stick. The first picture I attached is the day they came in, the second and third ones are a month after use, the fourth one is eight months, and the last three are 11 months. So yeah these boots didn’t even last me a whole year, before they started falling apart and letting water get in. Now it is important to take note of my job environment. I work in a corrugated box manufacturing warehouse, and the machine I’m on is a flexographic printing press. This important to know because, everyday I am dealing with ink, soap, water and all kinds of chemicals. I can’t think of day I’ve ended my shift with ink on my boots. My boots are constantly getting ink, spilled on them, and they are always wet. This ink (along with the other chemicals out there) are know you eat away at crap you leave them on. So I think this was ultimately the demise of my boots, I didn’t take care of them well, so I’m sure if I was to wash them off at the end of my shift they would’ve lasted longer. Which is why I’m still giving them 4 stars, cause the stuff I deal with eats at metal, and paint.... That being said the boots where great while they lasted, totally water proof, went home with dry feet everyday. They were pretty comfy, but I have pretty high arches so they stock insoles weren’t enough for me. If you have high arches like me, go ahead and buy some new insoles with the boots. All in all, they are good boots, and I would recommend them. I didn’t take care of mine properly so they fell apart. If you are getting ink, soap, and chemicals on your boots everyday, just clean them off at the end of your day, and they should last. You don’t have to do any crazy cleaning just don’t let that stuff sit.
