Love Thorogood boots! For years I wore red wing moc toe boots and two years ago I had my big toe fused and suddenly none of my red wings fit as the toe box was too narrow and pinched my toe. I tried on a pair of Thorogoods at a retailer and was amazed at how wide the toe box is even in a standard D width. The break in process for me was very minimal with no pinching or rubbing. The craftsmanship IMO is better than my old red wings and definitely would recommend.

I work in the oil and gas industry and these boots are my go to. Pricey but worth the money. Depending on the abuse you put them through they can last as long as 3 years plus they are re-sole able.

1st set of boots lasted me about 6 months. Not bad. Cant complain. I am a foreman heavy equipment operator. Dont do much laborer. Walking; yes, kicking stuff no. Water seemed to get through ao i got new ones. In the water, rarely. 2nd pair lasted me 2 months and water got through as we speak. Feet are soaked now for the rest of the day. Meaning boots are ruined. Nothings made as it used to be. For 300 dollars plus, id expect more quality or atleast warranty heir product. Will never spend my money on them.

These are very good boots. I put them through a lot, over five thousand miles in thirteen months, but they've held up quite well. I would buy them again, were it not for the restoration service offered by Thorogood. I highly recommend them. They are comfortable, although sizing is a little bit of an issue. They tend to run narrow.

I have worn redwing mock toe boots for over 20 years and have been looking at trying a pair of Thorogoods for a few years. The first question that came to mind was “ are they better than Redwings”? The answer is, they are very high quality boots and will last several years with proper care and maintenance along with a resole, same as redwings. They are just different. They have a slightly different feel and seem to run narrow compared to redwings mock toe. The laces are annoying at first because they slide while adjusting down several loops. But I actually have come to like the way they adjust. They also seem to take longer to break in. I am happy with them and like the larger variety of color schemes in the mock toe boot.

Best boot of this style on the market.

This is my sixth pair of these boots and I refuse to wear anything else to work in. I’m a welder/pipefitter/fabricator and these hold up well and are the best boot for stomping concrete all day. I tried a pair of Brunt boots and they were terrible. I returned them the day after I received them. I went back to these and won’t buy anything else from here on out. The waterproof layer works well, they stay warm during the winter with a good pair of socks and cool during the summers.
