This is not a water heater kit. It's a heater with 2 adapters. Ready to plug in to a simple under-sink outlet. I removed a faucet for replacement and connected the hot water supply hose hose directly to it. Needed to purchase a hose kit from Ace Hardware, to supply hot from the heater up to the sink. The issue was butt-connecting the two 3/8 flare "bib" ends of the hoses. I needed brass adapter fittings. Ace Hardware had 2 simple screw-together fittings to complete that need. Teflon tape Small pliers Crescent wrench Fluidmaster brand hose kit #B4F30CU Hot water in way less than 2 second at a medium trickle.... It's connected to hot water, so I initial is set hotter than the house heater for scalding dishes, yet I can use 20 gallons of water if needed, and it hardly fluctuates colder in temperature. If people are worried about rupturing or leaking, install a simple pressure regulator to lessen the force...... I plan to use these under bathroom sinks next. No drain to plumb in either......

This corrected our dishwasher issues with a on demand hot water heater. Dishwasher actually works now instead of leaving slimy food and detergent all over our dishes. Install kinda sucked tho. The company needs to have a better solution to mounting the relief valve drain into existing plumbing. I looked at tons of options and I ended up just drilling and tapping a brass nipple into the existing drain next to the dishwasher drain. Sealed up w silicone to prevent leakage and it should be just fine for this purpose. Good upgrade for sure. Update: October 21, 2019. The unit has stopped heating water all together. Tried resetting unit at the reset button, disconnecting power, cleaning pressure relief valve, all to no avail. Hopefully I can get a warranties replacement but until I do(tried calling the company and emailing) I am going to lower my rating because it hasn’t lasted even a year lol. Update: December 9th, second unit was received and worked for a month or so. Same problem has occurred and unit has stopped working. Due to the time and mess installing and uninstalling this unit we will not be using it any longer. No refund from company either. Cheaply made, crappy heater. Awesome when it works but not worth it due to the inferior components it uses. I uploaded a picture of the heating element that failed internally twice.

After suffering through winter after winter of cold faucet water in our patient bathroom, and after plumber after plumber said there was nothing which could be done other than wrapping pipes with plug-in pipe warmers (which did not work), I conducted my own research and came across stand alone water heaters. I read through reviews of many such products and saw complaints about rusting and product failure. I kept researching until I came across this product and felt confident in purchasing it. My contractor installed it after needing to install a water-resistant outlet in the bathroom and after drilling into the drain pipe and connecting the hoses. Since our patient bathroom sink has to be accessible to wheelchair patients, there is no cabinet underneath the sink. I wish this water heater tank was able to be attached to the wall but the directions say not to attach. So my contractor built a small platform for the tank to rest on so that the tank does not get contaminated when the bathroom floor is mopped. Normally by the time a person is done washing their hands, the faucet water is still ice cold. But now within a few seconds of the faucet turning on, they get warm water to wash their hands for as long as they need to wash them! I am so happy I purchased this product!

UPDATE 8/3/2019 I contacted Thermoflow at the contact information they provided in their comment. While all that was really needed was a new thermostat for the heater, they did send out a complete replacement. I changed the water heater out this morning and the heater is now working properly. Thus the change from a 1 star rating to a 4 star rating. I would have given 5 stars if the fittings included made sense from a plumbing standpoint here in the US, but they don't. They would have been better off using true 3/8" pipe threads coming out of the water heater, but I believe they are something other than 3/8" pipe thread, possibly 3/8" straight threads because you need to use a rubber gasket on the included adapter. And the description says it's a 1/2" pipe connection, but that's not true without using the provided adapter fitting. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I purchased this in February and haven't had time to install it until now. First, the 3/8" pipe connection on the unit itself are not standard pipe threads. This makes it more difficult to install if you need to make some odd connections. Second after install no matter where I set the temperature control, even on the frost protection setting, the unit does not turn off resulting in scalding hot water coming out of the faucet. I wish I had time to install it back in February. I would have returned it to Amazon. But alas, that time has passed and I'll have to look for a different hot water heater.
