Thermaltronics TMT-TC-2 Tip Tinners is a compressed tablet of pure tin and ammonia phosphate formulation in a metal container with lid. It has a self adhesive pad on the underside to allow it to be affixed on, or near the work station. Thermaltronics TMT-TC-2 Tip Tinners provides fast, efficient cleaning and re-tinning of blackened and highly oxidized soldering iron tips, safely and efficiently.

Very simple to use. Just dip let the soldering iron heat up and dip the tip into the powder for a couple of seconds. The tip comes out free of corrosion and with a uniform shiny solder coating. Heat up the soldering iron, drop the tip in, and wipe it off. Usually once is enough, but for a really dirty tip just give it a second pass. Restores the tip to a nice shiny surface, and more importantly, the solder doesn't bead up and fall off, so it becomes much easier to solder your electronics projects. This tip tinner has been an absolute life saver for my soldering iron. After much use with my soldering iron and then stored away for years. My soldering iron wouldn't work right. The tip got oxidized over time. I thought I'd have to keep on buying new replacement solder tips after every use. Always tin the tip of your soldering iron before every use. This stuff works amazing. Was having some trouble soldering larger capacitors directly to each other (for a capacitor bank) so I decided to try this. Definitely improved my soldering and works great. I do find that the amount is relatively small though and would like to see it available in a larger size.

    • Revives heavily oxidized solder iron tips !!
I bought this recently to revive my heavily oxidized solder iron tips and it works like a charm !!! I had to keep my hot iron in there for quite some time due to heavy oxidation. Tips work like new now !! Great product.

    • For those problem soldering iron tips
Worked great. I put a new tip on my soldering iron and went through the process of tinning it for the first time. It wouldn’t take any solder. The tip didn’t have good heat transfer and I just couldn’t use it. Brand new tip and I thought it was ruined. Then I bought this. I followed the steps that are listed on the bottom of the packaging. Now my tip looks and works great. It includes a piece of double sided tape so you can stick it down so it doesn’t move when retinning your tips. ... show more
