Description

Designed the right combination of loft and support, the Air Head Down Pillow helps campers and backpackers drift off just about anywhere. The pillow’s precise shape nestles into the hood of a Therm-a-Rest sleeping bag making it ideal for camping; but the light, compact pillow packs exceptionally small for easy travel making it an ideal flight pillow for airplanes as well. This innovative pillow is four inches thick inflated, and made with an inflatable, baffled core, providing a stable, compressible foundation and a nonslip fabric keeps pillow in place. Then, the entire pillow is covered in a brushed polyester and filled with down insulation for better sleeping and sweet dreams under the stars. The Air Head Down includes a stuff sack and is available in two sizes: Regular measures 11 x 15.5 x 4 inches, packs to 3.5 x 4.25 inches, and weighs 5 ounces; Large measures 12.5 x 18 x 4, packs to 3.75 x 4.75 inches, and weighs 7.4 ounces. Removable polyester cover is machine washable. Manufacturer's limited lifetime warranty. Assembled in the USA of domestic and imported materials.

I think this little pillow is pretty rad. The down on the cover is really soft. I like the color. It’s big enough to be a legitimate pillow, it deflates into a nice small size that takes ups very little room and adds barely any weight to your pack. I debated between this and a foam pillow that I could compress. My concern was that if it pops it’s useless, however the foam pillow definitely added more weight and took up more space and I tried them both and this one is more comfortable. I figure if it does pop and I can’t patch it, at least I still have this soft down case that I can stuff with clothes or leaves or something and still fashion some sort of pillow. I dunno. Hopefully it won’t pop, it seems to be made out of quality material and I can’t imagine I’ll be very rough with it. Long story short, I really like it. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I was looking for something light and compact for travel that would be similar to my favorite down pillow at home. This is not it. It is definitely compact and packable! Despite being an inflatable with down, it does not marry the two well. We travel a lot, and I’ve used a variety of different travel pillows. I don’t like inflatable pillows generally because of the sound and feel. Mostly, I tend to take my big down pillow from home (which can definitely be a hassle!). For backpacking, I am going to have to find something at least a little more packable. I will probably end up sacrificing some space for the sake of comfort and go with a smaller 100% down pillow. update: i did find a perfect solution, yay! if interested, see my other travel related reviews. ... show more

Thru hiking the AT in 2022 and this will be my new bestest friend!! :) Stop counting ounces like a weirdo-pack for SOME comfort for crying out loud! Hiking is hard, you deserve to be as comfy as possible on the trail while you rest. This pillow is amazing. You can inflate and deflate as much as you want for literally a perfect level of comfort. I used this pillow for the last 6 days camping in FL. It was comfortable and soft. I like that it has a down pillowcase already attached. It stayed in place and I tailored it to exactly what I wanted! I filled it all the way up and then let air out to make it the perfect softness. Highly recommended! ... show more
