I love this blanket! it is perfect for wrapping up when the weather gets chilly! I bought 12! One for each of my Thanksgiving guests! I found it softer than expected. Although the edges are surged, it does not detract from the beautiful pattern.

    • Rich Lush Colors But Not Fond of a Knee Blanket
The width on this knee blanket is far thinner than I'd pictured, including the fringe--and the approximate measurement provided here on Amazon must be off or I received a "knee" blanket that was a little thinner than the typical. The length of the blanket seems accurate enough. I love the deep rich colors on the ancient Buchanan tartan--and that is the most important reason for buying it anyway. Good for a knee blanket in the car, I suppose, or to hang on the wall or over the back of a chair, or hang over a bedstead or on the wall...or huddled over your shoulders or worn as a head and shoulder scarf in one--or to warm your lower leg/feet area. Or if you're very thin it might cover your body. This makes me think of the lap blankets people like FDR or Mr Potter from It's a Wonderful Life might wear over their knees while riding along in their wheel chairs. I love the deep rich colors on the ancient Buchanan tartan--and that is the most important reason for buying it anyway. The blanket thickness is just right for this type of thing and is not soft but isn't harsh on the skin either. You may want to air it out as there is a bit of a petroleum smell that seems to have mostly dissapated. ... show more

This blanket is absolutely gorgeous!!! I just had to leave a review because there are negative reviews on here that almost made me not buy the blanket and I'm so glad I did. It's made from wool and it feels like wool but not overly scratchy. It feels nice against your skin. It's a great lap blanket or wrap, perfect for your home office. These are great small blankets for a note of colour on sofas or stools, and to drape over the shoulders on chilly nights. The recycle lambs wool is sustainable but they have a chemical smell when they are new. I wash them in the wool cycle and lay them flat to dry. If you are looking for a super-soft blanket go for llama wool. This is very compact lambswool, a bit rough. Overall a very good product. ... show more
