  • Charming book to enjoy with your budding musician!
My kids and I really enjoyed reading this book together (we are all musicians at various levels). The illustrations are darling as well! Thank you.

  • Sweet story, beautifully illustrated
This lovely book is suitable for current piano students, former piano students, and piano teachers alike -- anyone who has ever had a connection to a piano... and others, as well! The story is sweet as can be and the illustrations are gorgeous. In the photo, it's posed on my own piano with its own history. I plan to gift it to my daughter's former piano teacher -- highly recommend this book. I'm glad I came upon it! ... show more

  • The power of music as told by the instrument
This story is sure to delight and inspire imagination as the reader experiences the power of music to spread joy from the perspective of the piano. I don’t play the piano but this book makes me want to strum my neglected guitar to hear – and feel – the beautiful music that we can make together and for each other. ... show more

  • Heartwarming story with a great message
"The Piano" is a great story whether you have played an instrument or not. For children interested in learning to play the piano or other instruments, I think this story will give them the encouragement to start. Since the story is told from the piano's perspective, I think it will allow children to become more aware of others and their feelings. ... show more

  • touching story, distinctive visual style, of special appeal to lovers of piano or music
This is a touching story of a child's growing love of music, specifically piano, from the piano's point of view. The illustrations combine a nostalgic, old-fashioned style with lovely abstract and semi-abstract features to show music and its influence. Children who care about, or are potentially intrigued by, music or piano will enjoy it for those elements, while others will identify with the sympathetic piano and follow its story, hoping for and happy to reach the piano's happy reunion and continued mission. ... show more

  • A story from a Piano's perspective
"The Piano" is a story told from the perspective of a musical instrument, but a story that is more than real. A story lived by the very own author, a story that is now inspiring children to love the arts of rhythm. A story that inspires you to try new things, and proves that practice makes you better. A book worth having in you children's bookshelf. ... show more
