  • Hard to Put Down
When we heard the author talk about the book on a Crowdcast, mom was almost more excited than daughter to read the book. The main character is a girl set in the present who time travels to the 1980s and gets to see her dad and aunt as teenagers. The book is filled with twists and turns and is so hard to put down. Each "chapter" is a "track" an authentic 80s song and these earworms will run through your head as you read the chapter. Both mom and daughter read the book and both rated it 5 stars. We listened to the songs of the chapter titles and discussed growing up in the 80s without the internet and so many modern conveniences. We giggled over Disco Baba --"not Disco Banana, Mom!" --and also had deeper conversations of the feelings the main characters were experiencing. It's a truely heartwarming tale on how to overcome life's obstacles head on and how through perseverance anything may be possible. ... show more
