A Great Book to Launch Great Dreams

It's obvious that Kristi Yamaguchi poured her heart, soul, love, much thought, and personal experiences into this sweet and inspiring book. It may well be that big dreams achieved in the future will be fueled by this book today. The illustrations by Tim Bowers of Poppy and the other characters make the book a wonderful visual treat in addition to being an inspiring story of triumph. Kristi's story of dreaming big, and overcoming challenges and obstacles while working towards one's dreams, is timeless; and I can imagine children inspired by this book today reading it to their own children, and grandchildren, years and decades from now. Never give up and dream "PIG"!

Attractive artwork and a storyline with a superb message, but what really turned me on with this children's book was the clever "porcine" passages including this winner, "As she wandered through New 'Pork' City, she began to wonder if her dreams would really come true." Great book I really enjoyed, and I'll end with a passage from the book which brought a song from Seussical the Musical to mind, "Anything's possible...We'll see if the pig's got pizzaz." ... show more

Cute, Cute, Cute!

Not only are the illustrations wonderful, but the message to children to keep trying in spite of disappointment, is great. I read this book to my daughter and she was captivated by the story and illustrations. What a positive role model Poppy is. Thanks Kristi! A timeless tale of perserverence!

Thanks Kristi for a wonderful story about how important it is for children(and Adults too!) to follow their dreams even in the face of discouragement. The illustrations are wonderful and the cover is a work of art all by itself. It will be a great gift for all of my nieces and nephews.Can't wait to see what Poppy takes on next! ... show more
