I’m on my second one of these jackets after misplacing the first. I wear mine year round in Alaska; the outer layer is perfect for hikes during the summer and I use the down layer for early summer and late fall camping. The shell is roomy enough to layer with a soft shell for more warmth. It holds up well to daily use and lots of washing. My mom and I have both purchased this coat. It is perfect for winter, it is not overly puffy, but warm. I have used just the outer coat through the spring as a rain coat, it is waterproof! I have had the coat for 2 years and it is holding up very well.

I bought the teal color jacket in a size medium. It runs small as far as jackets go. For reference, I’m 5’6 and a size 8. It was tight around the hips when it was zipped and even tight around my back when I put my arms out in front of me. I was hoping it would work for a spring ski trip to New Mexico but the outer layer is way to thin- it even feels like it could rip if you skied through trees or something. I was really hoping it was going to be perfect because the color is gorgeous and hard to find in ski jackets! It would be great for a cooler weather hike- but not warm enough even for spring skiing in my opinion. Maybe if you were a sweater and a base layer under it. Just size up if you get it. ... show more

I bought one for me and my fiancée for our February trip to San Francisco and the jacket didn’t disappoint! We did need to wear a zip up sweatshirt on the colder days but the jackets kept us warm and dry!
