I just got it and haven't tested it yet to see how warm it will keep me while watching my daughter play soccer. I wanted waterproof and warm and this coat definitely feels warm. I am 5'7", 34C chest and 36" waist and I ordered a medium. I probably could have gotten a small because it has some room unless I plan on wearing really bulky sweaters which I hardly ever do but we shall see about this winter. I will keep the size even though you cannot adjust the waist. I don't have a large head and the hood fits me perfectly without looking like a shower cap so not sure how the small hood would fit hence why I am keeping the medium. I have long arms and the sleeves are a perfect fit as well. The length hits mid-thigh for me. The jacket is high quality and heavy duty but I know not easily packable if you plan to take it on a trip. The snaps to cover the zipper is too heavy duty. I guess in case you get into a snowball fight or go tabogganning. The snaps will be a pain to use because they are not easy to snap close. The zipper is pretty heavy duty as well and not easy to put together but easy to zip up. I think it is so new that hopefully it will loosen up a bit and I get use to the length. The look of the jacket, I got black, is awesome and I can wear it to the city or a night out without looking like I am going on an Everest trek. You get what you pay for and and materials and make is high quality and the jacket is multi-functioning such as watching a soccer match or a night out in town.

I received a package with a coat that did not even remotely look like a north face product. It didn’t have any Care labels on it and was poorly packaged. The sizing for a woman was the size of a child’s jacket. Not to mention I waited a very long time to receive it. It was expensive so I returned it immediately.

I wore my previous North Face Parka for 40 cozy years. Snug as an Eskimo. This one has inexcusable annoyances - but first, something I love: it's waterproof! And I'm assuming it's as warm as my last parka. Here's the aggravation: 1. You're a WALKING BILLBOARD. Tasteless bright white logo on the front AND back, plus white writing on each sleeve. 2. Pocket material is a creepy synthetic with static that makes the hands feel weird. 3. The stiff, high collar digs into the under-chin. 4. Got XL because someone said they run small. They don't. Only the chest area fits. Shoulders are huge. 5. Why is 3rd pocket INSIDE the coat? Getting to your credit card and keys is a pain. Especially given the tiny zipper. The 3rd pocket on my old coat was a simple, exterior breast pocket concealed by a flap. 6. It's a keeper only because at least it should be warm. No time to run around trying on more coats. A shame they don't make the coat they were making 50 years ago.
