This jacket is similar to a marmot I purchased 7 years ago and loved. this northface jacket has a mesh lining, a good size hood and nice mid-thigh length. My critiques to style is that I like to have a drawstring at the hem of a jacket and miss that in this coat. The current style makes it a little boxy. And the sleeve cuffs are elastic on the northface jacket. I would prefer velcro adjustment tabs to select the wrist opening. ... show more

I purposely bought this jacket a size up so I could layer under it, and it works well. It lays nice even without layers under. The best is that it is long enough to keep me dry. The hood and high zip neck keep me dry, too.

I thought this jacket would have been warmer. But it was very lightweight and not made for cold weather. I felt that it was just a rain jacket/wind breaker. I guess I had the wrong expectation. I didn’t like the material; it was stiff and it arrived semi-wrinkled although it was btand new. I hung it up on a hanger for 2 days and the wrinkles remained. Size wise, I’m 5’6”, 134 lbs. The small left enough room for me to put a thick sweater underneath. The length was perfect, it reached a couple of inches below my buttocks.
