If you tend to wear sweaters, consider sizing up but it’s not necessary because this coat will keep you warm without the bulk. This is the warmest... The only downfall- if it is an actual downfall, it is real down so feathers come out once in a while. the fit is perfect. I am a size 4 and the Small is just right. I've had a long Patagonia coat for many years. I gained weight and they don't have my size (XXL - apparently I'm not Patagonia's brand demographic). North Face had my size in similar long coat, similar price. I like that it is much lighter weight as my P coat and just as warm. However, I'm disappointed in how heavy the faux fur around the hood is. This causes it to constantly fall over my face -- and there's no way to keep it up and out. Patagonia had an elastic to snug up the hood and secure its position (and they don't bother with faux fur). The saggy hood is a problem since I live in MN and often need it. Purchased this coat after hearing how warm North Face coats are, living in Chicago I wanted a warm coat for the winter. This North Face coat did not deliver. The coat was light and I knew it would not make a Chicago winter. The coat would probably have worked in Atlanta or other states where they seldom if ever get below 30 degrees. The coat wasn't as heavy as my Nautica Coat which cost $80 and it is very warm. The North Face coat was beautiful, and the navy blue color was perfect, I really wanted to keep it but after just experiencing 4 days of below-zero weather I knew the best thing to do was return it. If you live anywhere where the temperatures dip below 30 degrees save your money. ... show more
