Bought to replace my TNF jacket almost just like that I purchased in 2011 but was lost by an American Airline. It’s a little stiff, but I expect it will be as good as the jacket it’s replacing after a little bit of wear.

This jacket stops the wind dead, provides incredible insulation ,and has all the material and construction quality you would expect from North Face. Highly recommended. I have owned 2 of the NF Bionic shells previously, still have both but starting to show their age after many years of daily use, by far the best jackets I have ever owned. Both were what you would expect from a windproof softshell, soft to touch and flexible fabric regardless of temp. This Bionic 2 feels like an inexpensive woven raincoat material, hard with a stiff feel of plastic even when warm. I would guess it would be even worse if very cold. This is uncomfortable for me and not something that I could wear for long days in and out of the car, working outside, etc. as I am constantly moving. I use as a daily jacket through winter and this will not replace my older NF. I will be starting over with a search of other softshell brands in the hopes of finding something softer and more comfortable. ... show more
