I have seen and tried an extensive amount of nursers and nipples over the decades! Overfeeding, aspiration, gas, bloat, mouth injuries, and unfortunately even death has occurred.     • Game changer for newborn Pomeranian puppies.

These are a game changer!! I am a Pomeranian breeder and my puppies are usually 3-5 ounces at birth, so I was very unsure that these would work, especially after a review from another Pomeranian breeder saying that they didn't due to the small size being too big. I figured I would give it a chance since I wasn't having much luck on other nipples. Well, I attached one of these nipples to a syringe and pushed a full cc of puppy formula into the nipple first that way the puppy could smell it and the puppy immediately latched on to it! Hallelujah!! The nice part, is that once all of the syringe has been pushed into the nipple, you can remove the syringe and allow the puppy to stay latched and finished nursing off the nipple until it removes all the formula. When the puppy is done it will remove itself off, just be sure to supervise still, as I had a momma who found the nipple and ate it. ... show more

I have been breeding Yorkshire Terriers for a few years now, and this product was recommended to me by some of my breeder friends. I normally do not take time to write reviews, but this one is worth writing about. I have used many feeding bottles and nipples before, but this by far is the best I ever used. I am feeding a runt and the little guy took to it so easy and loves it. .I love that he will nurse off mom as well because the nipple feels like her. He is gaining weight and doing great because of this feeder. Highly recommend! PROS: Able to put back on mom no problem, and no aspiration. CONS: He is getting to be more of an aggressive eater and sometimes the nipple starts to slip off, but that can happen with any nipple, I just have to push it back on. If you need this in a hurry, forget it. There is no prime on this product so it took about a week to get, so buy before you have a litter. ... show more

I have Pomeranian puppies and these were just way too big for this breed. They are basically foundation sponges. Very soft and very smushy. The dogs did not think that they were nipples and did not want to latch on and they were so big that they were never going to get their mouths open big enough for them. They are ridiculously absorbent which is kind of weird.. obviously a real nipple is not like that..it is hard and drips if they suck on it or pull on it. This is a soft sponge that is filled with milk if it touches it. For me it would need to be a lot smaller and nowhere near as soft and probably coated in something so it's not nearly as absorbent. I tried to attach it to a different type of bottle instead of a syringe but it's so soft it wouldn't attach. I bet one nipple could probably absorb a full ounce of milk which is kind of bizarre because the milk should travel through it not absorb into it. I did try to use it with the puppies when they got bigger also.. didn't work out for me. Basically a foundation sponge with a pinhole through it with a sort of nipple shape carved out at the end. Wasn't that expensive so I wasn't going to return it after using it. Most puppies are pretty small when they're born no matter the breed so I was surprised how big these were. I got the large nipples for Great Dane puppies, and the sizing is great, but here are some things to improve upon since the maker said they were still in that process. :) - They didn’t want to take to it at first, and some never did. I’m sure if this were used with every single meal from the start they might, as 2 out of 3 of the smallest pups got used to it. This litter seemed to take to the syringe nozzle better than the nipple, but I’m not going to give up trying. - I wonder if they got too much air when they were sucking and it put them off or caused their stomachs to feel full faster, since the nipple is basically a specially formed makeup sponge (which is a fairly good idea!) - If you put the syringe sideways the milk collects in the larger part of the bulb and drips out, which can be messy and wasteful. I thought of combining a baby bottle with the sponge nipple tip, and am going to give that a try tomorrow! - The sponge definitely gets torn up easily by claws or later on, teeth. Which might be fixed by the bottle nipple over it - again I have yet to try it. - The syringe could be better quality. The measurements rubbed off on my hand about the 3rd day of using it, and the rubber plunger keeps stuttering or getting stuck when drawing milk up (without the nipple applied obviously, lol). This causes air to be sucked up instead of milk, the rubber plunger to come off in the syringe which needs tweezers to remove, or the plunger assembly to shoot out of the syringe spraying formula everywhere with it. I’ve taken to using a drop of extra virgin olive oil on the plunger and sides which seems to help. Maybe try to coat the larger/bulbous portion of the nipple in a tougher, “water proof” coating? Maybe like they make bottle nipples out of! If you could make it function with a bottle that might be advantageous as well! ... show more

He has a cleft palate and i chose to syringe feed instead of tube feeding as I’m not as experienced in that yet and this product has made it so easy for my baby to eat and get nice and full !
