  • Clawson does not disappoint!
Another good read. The story moves well, does not bog down in this era of quick reads for seekers of interesting characters and plot lines. Will pick up the next one.

  • A place I never learned about in school, total over looked as a historical site!
In reading The Emerald Tablet, I discover a place I never learned about in school or world history classes! Is that because it is in Iran. Place that is unfriendly to Americans yet today? Anyway I found Persepolis fascinating, and would love to visit someday. have enjoyed these novels immensely, kind of like reading an Indiana Jones movie! Many of the places Clawson Writes about are real, some of the events unfolding however are not. It is a beautiful blend of history and fiction for anyone who loves both. With some adventure thrown in the mix. ... show more

  • An Archaeological Thrill Ride!!
The Emerald Tablet by Andrew Clawson is another great addition to the Harry Fox series. • 2nd Good Read
As is often the case, the 1st book of the series, good4 as it was, is surpassed by the 2nd. Exciting and believable story, return of main characters, the addition of new ones, all well done. Gonna be a good series. Highly Recommended.

  • this book grabs you, right from the start
If you like non-stop action you will love this book. The background of Egypt is a plus and really sucks you into the story.

  • On balance it was an ok read despite a few flaws
The premise of an Indiana Jones like treasure hunter working for a New York crime family is certainly different and appreciated. I like the concept and enjoyed it. Areas that caught my attention: The good guys are purely good. The bad guys are purely bad. The exception was the sympathetic treatment of the 'good' mob guys. They were the only nuanced characters and I enjoyed them. The good guys ALWAYS have the right piece to the right puzzle at the right time. A few misdirections would have kept me guessing and made it more interesting. The bad guys were never very smart. So you know they're going to fail. There is no back and forth in the plot between the players. The one dimensional portrayal of the veteran (a bad guy) was a little boring and doesn't reflect the reality of military veterans at all but is more in line with modern media denigrating service members as stupid and immoral. It was an offensive portrayal. But even worse: it was boring. That said I will read the next book in the series with hope for improvement. ... show more
