    • Well I slept bad and then very good.
So I have TMJ. And my jaw tends to hurt a lot. So I decided to try a night guard, instead of going and getting the expensive one from the dentist I had started with this. It is pretty inexpensive for what it is. And if you can't afford the big one this is a good route to go. Now the box came with a whole bunch of different ones and I don't know why I would need so many right away. But that's okay. Now in order to get the instructions and stuff I had to look at a website and then they had you talk to a chat person. All of which was fine. The video actually made it easy to follow along and actually get the molding of the mouthguard correct. All I had to do was get some boiling water and I what I did is I filled my teapot and got that to a light boil and I put it into a bowl and then was able to work from there. So after you get your hot water then you put your mouth guard in and you wait for the top to curl just slightly and then you pull that out and you form it to your mouth and then once it's formed to your mouth you should be good to go. The chat people ask for a picture of it to make sure that it that it went right or if you had any issues with it. They were actually very helpful. My mouth guard was very easily molded to my mouth and I did it right the first time. Now because it is a just a standard mouth guard mine was a little bit too big for my mouth so I had to cut the extra off. And that seemed to be okay for me. So I slept with it the first night and I woke up three times to take it out and then put it back in because it was really hurting my jaw and then the next day the chat people checked in to see how my sleep went and it was a terrible experience for me that first night. Now part of me wanted to give up on it completely because it was terrible, but then I went well maybe it was my jaw adjusting. So I gave it another go, and actually my second night I slept really well. And now I'm to that point where when I don't have my mouth guard my jaw hurts. My only thing with giving this a four star Is that yes my mouth guard is helping me. Yes it was super easy to get it molded to my teeth. And yes it is super helping me. However the inside that touches the roof of my mouth leaves like a weird feeling like there's the ends up being like a small gap and it I end up having a sore spot in the morning on the top of my mouth It does go away during the day but it is still frustrating to have that just because of that extra material on the mouthguard. And that is one of the parts that I cut because it was too big and by feeling is that it is still too big but I can't really cut down much more just because of the weird angle for being able to cut. But because I have been sleeping so much better with the mouthguard I have decided to go to the dentist and get a fitting to get a better one so I can avoid having that weird part on the roof of my mouth. But if you can't do that or you just don't want to do that or you want to test it out like I did before getting an actual one this set was a really helpful set for me. ... show more

    • Mouth Guard Is More Comfortable When Modified

I wholeheartedly agree with the review (and photo) from "Lilly" on May 8, 2020 ... I actually do have a small mouth, per my dentist, and when I used this mouth guard I was annoyed by the huge amount of material touching the roof of my mouth. It triggers my gag reflex, and I could not move my tongue. Per Lilly's suggestion, I cut out the entire center material [see my photo attached] of the mouth guard. This feels much better for my small mouth and tongue, and it still stays nicely on my upper teeth. Thanks to "Lilly" for her suggestion! Here is Lilly's review from 5/8/2020 ... "When I first bought this mouth guard, I followed the instructions and the molding process was very easy. It fit my teeth perfectly. However, the guard is SO THICK that I could barely close my mouth (I do not have a small mouth). And there was so much material on the roof my mouth that it made me gag. I couldn’t sleep with it. It was horrible. 1 star. After some thinking, I decided that I would try to modify the guard Since I can’t return them anyway. So I decided to cut out a large portion of the roof of the mouth. I basically left a bar across the front teeth and the full guard on the back teeth. This worked out so well. So much easier to breathe with it in. And still protected all my teeth since my front teeth were not able to touch. It’s still a little big so my jaw isn’t too happy about it. But effective. For quite some time, dentists have been telling me that I grind my teeth. The relatively new boutique dentist where I go has been trying to get me to purchase a night guard from their office for almost $1,200. For that price tag and the fact that night guards do not last indefinitely, I decided to go this route first. The cost of the night guard just didn't sit well with me, so after some research I decided on this brand. I tried another brand from Amazon, which was a disaster, so it was returned. After finding this brand and reading reviews, I purchased this one on a whim. I am actually happy about the purchase because this one comes with useful step-by-step instructions, in addition to a reference to fully review the online video about how to prepare the night guard for your personal use. In my opinion, if strictly followed, you will most likely end up with a viable end product. Since boiling is required, I was a little conservative with how long I left the night guard in the water, so I had to go through the last steps a second time. Now, I have a night guard that is fully functioning. It has been about three weeks since I began using it and so far, so good. The box comes with 5 ready to customize, night guards. A night guard case is also included. I must emphasize that reading and comprehending the instructions is a must, as is actively viewing the video for properly customizing the night guard. Though this night guard works for me, I would encourage potential purchasers to do one's due diligence before purchasing. I am neither recommending nor discouraging the purchase, just giving thoughts about my experience. ... show more

    • Not easy to get perfect fit in the mouth.
First off, exceptional customer service. Extremely helpful, very responsive, considerate and prompt. Secondly, the preparation seems pretty easy on their video, but I did not find it so. I put the first one in boiling water, as the video suggested, and it turned into a messy gooey glob in a split second. So, the water needs to very hot but not boiling. I put the second one in hot but not boiling water and it did not quite form properly and was loose and uncomfortable to wear. The third one fit properly and is OK.
