  • Excellent product and Customer Service
I purchased this mouthguard because my dentist has been encouraging me to get one as I grind my teeth at night on occasion. I had been putting off buying one as I had one custom made for me in the past by a dentist and I hated it! The custom made one was too tight and when I would wake in the morning it would feel as if my teeth shifted overnight and were very sore. So, although I needed a guard I was hesitant to try it again. But at the insistence of my current dentist, who says I will end up causing damage to my teeth if I don’t wear a night guard, I searched Amazon for the best one. I found ConfiDental and I am so glad I did! Firstly, when I scanned the QR code in the package to watch the instructional video, I received a message from Liam who was super supportive. He helped me through the whole process of molding my guard. He asked for pictures of my finished, molded night guard so he could assess if it was done correctly. He asked for feedback on how it felt. He messaged me the next night to check on how my first night went using the night guard. I appreciated such great, personalized customer service! I have access to customer service any time and I feel confident that I can reach out if I need any more assistance or have any more questions. It’s very comforting to have that. Secondly, the night guard was very simple to mold (after watching the easy to follow video) and fit to my teeth and mouth. It is very comfortable and it is not too tight nor causes any soreness or shifting of my teeth. It was snug enough to stay in place all night. I was able to sleep through the night with no problems. I highly recommend this product as not only is it a great quality night guard that is easy to mold and has a great, comfortable fit, but the customer service is top notch. Thanks Liam, for your assistance and kindness! ... show more

  • Easy to Customize+Still Going Strong 7mths Later!
⚠️The following is NOT medical advice, it is ONLY my personal experience and opinion. Please consult a licensed medical professional prior to using any over the counter medical or dental device!⚠️ I bought this Night Guard on 06/2021, and it is still going strong even w/my biting it, chewing, and grinding on it pretty regularly. I bought this Night Guard (NG), because I was tired of waking up with teeth intentions in my tongue, and tongue pain from what felt like my almost biting my tongue through while I slept! Ugh! I had previously spoken with a Dentist who recommended I use a Night Guard (NG), and then proceeded to charge me an arm and a leg to ‘custom’ fit one for me. Only to have that NG not last very long, only a few months, before my consistent use broke through the silicon and it become unusable. I have since learned from use of other NG’s, that the silicon was just too thin to hold up to my biting, grinding while asleep. Note: IF You are new to using NG’s then it may take you a while to get used to sleeping with a foreign object in Your mouth. Yes, it may not stay in your mouth the entire night, but that does NOT mean it isn’t helping You (see my comments below about my own experiences with the NG not remaining in place through out the night/my sleep.) At least give the NG (whichever one You chose), a good month of consistent use, before You decide to throw Your hands up and that it isn’t working for you, or it is something too uncomfortable for You to use when You sleep. By uncomfortable, I mean having an object in your mouth, I do NOT mean discomfort when the NG is in Your mouth, if You experience discomfort from where the NG touches Your teeth or gums, then the NG needs to be recustomized! You need to go back through the reheat customization process, and recustomize the NG’s “Fit”. However, if You feel generally uncomfortable, because You have a foreign object in Your mouth, then I recommend that You just continue to stick to it, and keep using the NG, as You will likely get used to the NG over time (the length of time differs per person, from my conversations with others who also have used NG’s.). However, IF You have a deviated septum, snore loudly, and/or snore or wake often during sleep due to interruptions in Your breathing pattern, have sleep apnea, or any other difficulty breathing while sleeping at night, then do NOT use a NG without FIRST consulting Your Physician!! As NG’s are NOT recommended for people with breathing issues during sleep!! since the NG may exacerbate/worsen your breathing issues or potentially cause You to unintentionally choke!! So, speak to Your Licensed Medical Practitioner before using a NG to ensure that You can safely use one with Your medical condition! 🔹HOW TO CUSTOMIZE, CLEAN & STORE: This night guard is EASY to CUSTOMIZE, You simply boil about a cup, a cup and a half of water, (just enough water to cover the night guard when it is submerged in whatever container you plan to put it in while ‘warming’ it), wait for the water to cook from boiling hot to warm (just hotter than comfortable to stick your finger in it, maybe 5min?, If the water ends up too cool, just take the night guard out, place it on a paper towel and reheat the water and try again), when the NG is sufficiently warm, it will become pliable (you can easily bend it, etc.), wait until it is cool enough You can put it in your mouth without burning yourself, then place the NG into Your mouth and bite down on it, to impress Your teeth impression into the silicon of the NG. Do NOT bite down so hard that You bite through the NG (or bite the NG super thin) as that would defeat the purpose. You are aiming for a customized “FIT”, and NOT to bite through it! Plus, if any part of the NG is uncomfortable when customizing or later after using, You can simply reheat it and redo the customization process. If You still have issues, then You can reheat the NG, and using a few handy kitchen or toolbox tools, You should be able to press, push, and/or possibly cut (though I do not recommend cutting it, that’s just a last resort, as cutting it would likely void any warranty and replacement by the manufacturer), and You should be able to smoosh/squash any uncomfortable piece down/into submission and a more comfortable placement. Once Customized be sure to store Your NG in the Blue Container that comes with it, after use. You can clean it regularly by soaking it in Efferdent or another over the counter denture cleaner. Be sure completely dry before storing. MATERIAL: I have used other NG’s and this one is comparable. Like many others, this NG is made of clear silicon that becomes pliable in warm to hot water. The hotter the water, the more pliable, (so make sure the water isn’t so hot that it totally loses it’s shape!, as that would ruin it!) COST+VALUE: The cost of this NG is definitely a point of value considering how much dental offices charge for customized NG’s, which is typically an outrageous amount! Also, when compared to other NG’s sold online, I found this NG to be reasonably priced at the time it was purchased. QUALITY/DURABILITY: I can’t speak of others, but I do not use my NG every night. I tend to only use it when I wake up and find that I have again bitten down on my tongue hard enough to leave deep teeth impressions. Then I start using the NG for a few nights, and inevitably I stop using it again, not intentionally, I just forget, and the cycle repeats. However, having said that, the NG has held up very well considering I purchased it 7 months ago. AND, not only do I tend to bite down HARD or Grind my teeth HARD at night, but I also tend to bite chew/grind my NG when it is in my mouth even BEFORE, I fall asleep. A bad habit, but it is kind of a habit. My point being that even after seven (7 months), this NG is still going strong. I haven’t needed to reheat it and reshape it, nor has the NG’s silicon broken through even after all my biting, chewing, grinding consistent abuse. RECOMMENDATION & RESULTS: I would definitely recommend this NG for anyone who is in need of a NG to stop biting, or grinding their teeth while sleeping or who has been advised to use a NG as padding between their teeth at night while sleeping to ease Templar Mandibular Joint Disorder (TMJ) pain the next morning. While my own NG does NOT tend to stay in place through out the entire night, the NG does somehow keep me from leaving deep and painful teeth impressions in my tongue, so apparently it remains in place long enough for my subconscious to get the message while I sleep and for me NOT to bite my tongue so hard or grind my teeth all night. For the price (whatever it may be), and the results, in my opinion, this NG is definitely “worth it” to try it for yourself. Good Luck & I hope You find this NG as helpful for Your own condition as I found it for mine. ... show more

  • Pretty good once you get it shaped
I waited to write this review until I had a sense of how long they might last. I've been using one of the heavy-duty ones for about six months now, and it's about worn out. That's pretty good for the price. You get two heavy-duty ones in the package, plus three of the thin ones. It's pretty tricky to get these shaped correctly. They're pretty small to start with, and they shrink and curl a little more when you soften them in hot water. The first one I tried to shape was one of the thin variety, and I didn't really manage it; it didn't cover my rear teeth at all. I've got my wisdom teeth, but this stopped short of the next pair of molars, so even without my wisdom teeth this wouldn't have covered my back teeth. However, after the practice with that one, I was ready to try with the heavy-duty model. This time, rather than just pop it in my mouth, I pulled on the ends of the mouth guard to stretch it out first. Then I submerged it again briefly to make sure it was plenty soft, and then I shoved it in my mouth. It still wasn't perfect--I hadn't managed to center my teeth right between the raised portions. So I didn't bite down firmly on it yet; instead I heated it *again* and reseated it. At this point I decided it was close enough and actually bit down. This worked pretty well. It came out a little on the thin side--I think there was actually a hole where my incisors went through slightly. But it was comfortable to wear and did seem to prevent me from grinding my teeth at night, or at least prevented the grinding from damaging my teeth any further. A downside of this product is that it does shed small pieces of plastic gradually. They're quite small, but I did often find them when washing off the guard in the morning, so I assume I was also swallowing some of them during the night. This gets a lot worse when the guard is failing--it fails by developing cracks through the plastic, and the plastic around the inside of the crack is very crumbly and grainy. But this is also the point at which you need to replace the guard, so, y'know, just keep a lookout for it. I got this as an alternative to a hard plastic one that my dentist made for me from 3d scans at great expense, which I started to think was causing pain in one of my teeth. I no longer think the hard guard was causing the pain--I think that was decay under a seal on the tooth. But honestly this kind of guard is still nice to have. I have a long-term cough from GERD, and it's very hard to keep the hard one in my mouth. The soft one comes out occasionally, but nowhere near as easily. It also distorts my speech less, although still some. I think I'll try to keep both on hand, so as to have options. All in all, these are pretty good as mouth guards, and really hard to beat for the price. ... show more

  • Creepy Overbearing Customer Service
The instructions on the box aren't great. They have a QR code that they say is a link to a video. When you click on it, IT OPENS UP FACEBOOK MESSENGER AND AUTOMATICALLY SENDS THEIR CUSTOMER REPS A MESSAGE. So they lie to you. What follows is the most overbearing experience I've ever had with a customer service department. They send you a link to the instructional video and then proceed to rapid fire questions to you about the product. I told them several times that I was fine and didn't need help. The video is actually very thorough. All I needed was the video. But they kept messaging me. They asked me for pictures of the molded mouth guard twice. I politely refused both times. I tried to be polite and tell them that I didn't need any help. They kept messaging me. I eventually blocked them, because even when I told them to stop, they just brushed it off by saying "we're just making sure you're mouth guard is working fine" and then continued rapid firing questions at me. I felt like they were about to pitch me on an MLM scam. Even after telling them that I didn't need any help, they kept messaging me. The mouth guard is fine. I don't really have anything to compare it to. It saved me a bunch of money from my dentist and it seems to work fine. ... show more

  • Easy, Comfortable and AMAZING Customer Service
I'm a teeth grinder; have been for many years. I was told again about my grinding during my last dentist visit, but in the past was offered no solutions. This time, the dentist actually recommended I try a mouth guard. He said they could fit me for a custom one but it would be super expensive, so he recommended I find one online to try out first, just to see if I'm able to sleep with it. If it all worked out then there's no need going to the expensive route, so that's what I did. I did my research and found this one. There were tons of reviews and most were very positive, so I gave it a shot. I received this months ago but kept delaying the set up, fearing it would be too time consuming. I finally broke down and set it up over the weekend and it was super easy to do and took very little time. The box does come with instructions but they also highly recommend scanning a QR code which pulls up a link to a step-by-step video through FB messenger. The whole messenger thing was weird, but I went with it. The video itself was simple to follow and I was able to get the mouth guard molded on the first try. This is where the FB messenger played a positive roll. It was a direct line of communication with the company. They wanted to be present while you were molding so they could make sure everything went well. You sent them photos of the mold and they would let you know how it all looked. They also asked questions to make sure it was comfortable in your mouth. They also followed up the next day to make sure there were no issues sleeping with it. I honestly have not had this amazing of customer service in a very long time. The product itself works well. I slept perfectly fine with the mouth guard all night. There was no discomfort at all. Combine the great product with the stellar customer service and it's probably the easiest 5 stars I have given in quite some time. I definitely recommend. ... show more

  • In case you need the instructions
Instructions below, to help save someone the time of searching/watching the video/the sketchy runaround because plainly typed instructions were too hard for them. I found a youtube comment (shout-out to terab513) just plainly listing the instructions on the video, followed it, and had no issue. I'm going to share it here to save someone the hassle: 1) fill a bowl with boiling water and allow to cool to between 70-80c (158-176f). For a full kettle (1L), this takes between ten and 15 minutes. (*you can also heat up a mug of water in the microwave for about 3-4 minutes and it'll reach the desired temperature) 2) place the mouthguard into the water and submerge with a spoon 3) when the sides of the mouthgaurd begin to curl in (after 3-20 seconds), scoop it out with the spoon. In the case of the 6mm mouthguards, do this when the sides of the mouthguard turn clear. 4) Wet your fingertips with cool water to prevent the mouthgaurd from sticking to your fingers while you place it in your mouth. 5) Align the mouthgaurd with your teeth and bite down. 6) Holding the bite, suck to form a vaccum as though sucking on a lolipop. Massage your lips and cheeks for 1-2 minutes to form a complete impression of your teeth. 7) remove the mouthguard and submurge briefly in cold water. 8) check the fit by placing it back on your teeth. You should be able to open your mouth and speak without the mouthguard falling out. *Mug in the microwave is the easiest and quickest way to heat the water. I'm not waiting 15 minutes for water to boil. Also, the 2 minutes of massaging for fit isn't necessary; biting down and just pressing in on the lips/cheeks for maybe 30 seconds to mold it works just fine. It's "confidental" because the instructions don't tell you how to mold the mouthguards without giving you the runaround to the instruction video. The QR code takes you to a facebook link, the video itself is EIGHTEEN MINUTES LONG, and there's no plainly written instructions on the entire "instruction manual" that comes with it. They had the space to just type out the instructions on the paper! The video should have been optional. The mouthguard itself is fine, fits fine, and does the job for what I need it for. I don't like how thick it is-- it keeps me from properly closing my mouth all the way (and this is with the 3mm) and is somewhat of a sensory nightmare, but it's either this or I crack/wear down my teeth with grinding. ... show more

  • It simply works for me
Much to my surprise I have been grinding my teeth at night to the point now that one of my front teeth is being ground down and becoming thin at the edge. My dentist pointed out my tooth grinding and I didn't want to ask them for a mouth guard knowing it would be expensive. There are several over the counter solutions and I purchased a Dentek guard for $20. It comes in a plastic tray that you keep it while boiling and then to insert in your mouth. I thought I was aligning my uppers when biting down to create the initial mold, but I was off and it became unusable. I didn't want to spend another $20 for one only to maybe screw it up, so I purchased the ConfiDental which was 5 for $20. I chose Confidental based on the reviews and obviously great price for 5! I followed the procedure as recommended and it worked. I got it aligned correctly and molded it correctly around the surface of my teeth. I have sleep apnea and wear a full face mask and was concerned about how I would breath in the mask with the mold in place. I wondered if it would be a distraction and me not be able to even fall asleep. However, it was not annoying and it worked the first night and I have been wearing it ever since. I still have 4 left! I am a mouth breather because I had a deviated septum for almost 70 years. I had it fixed and now I can breath through my nose. I wear the mouth guard and I can sleep. Actually, I feel like I am sleeping better because of the guard which sounds counter-intuitive. But it works and I wear it every night knowing I am saving my teeth. Confidental works and is a good value. I highly recommend Confidental. ... show more

  • Don’t waste your money!!!
I like how Amazon shoves the good reviews up towards the top. Don’t make that mistake, search all of them before making a decision. I purchased these mouth guards around July 16 and they arrive shortly after. I needed the 6 mm thickness as I do, heavily grind my teeth at night. The 3 mm thickness seems very thin and flimsy for what I needed. But my husband happily took those over. Our first couple that we tried to mold the instructions were lacking to say the least. The mouth guard turns translucent so quickly that it is hard to see, and , the instructions don’t really tell you how long to have it in there or what temperature for the water. Just not too hot and not too long. Very vague. I finally got the second mouthguard molded and have slept with it for less than two months. The material has already split and broken where my back molars are. I now can’t use it because I’m scared I’m going to swallow pieces of it in my sleep. I reached out to the company that produces the mouthguards since it’s past my point of being able to do anything through Amazon and this is the response: “ I am sorry to hear that our mouthghuard did not last long for you, Miranda. Our guard was designed to last up to 12months however the durability will also depends on how heavy you grind. I understand that you are a heavy grinder. You can still mold the 3mm guard and when you mold bite the guard down but not too hard to have the same thickness as the 6mm guard.“ I’m not sure how in the entire flipping heck they think that a 3 mm mouth guard being bit down on is going to be the same thickness as the 6 mm (which is twice as thick). That just makes absolutely zero flipping sense. I have not looked into the other claims that were in reviews about the packaging not mentioning BPA free or where it was made so I’m not entirely sure how true those are, but it would not surprise me one bit. Customer service answered fairly quickly but I had to really go digging to find a way to contact them and they were lacking in their advice to say the least. It was trying to direct all traffic through Facebook, which I don’t have and also don’t believe is great for business. Your customers should not have to jump through hoops to be able to get a hold of you if you believe in the product you’re selling. ... show more
