Description

The Airhook 2.0 is the BRAND NEW version of our two-in-one solution for airplane travel comfort: a stable drink holder for a can, cup, or bottle, and a secure mount for an electronics device from a cell phone to large tablet. The Airhook uses the tray table in its vertical and locked position as an anchor, rather than horizontally across your lap as a platform. Many NEW features, including a stabilizer bar that makes setup on the tray table more secure, a convertible mode where the drink holder folds away when not in use, a separate device perch for a full range of viewing angle, and integrated can support. Plus, now you can use in first class, exit rows, and OUT OF THE PLANE! No more sacrificing space! ** Every Unit Includes A Neoprene Travel Pouch ** Frequently Asked Questions - The Airhook 2.0 Q: What electronic devices are supported? A: Support all phones and tablets up to 9.5 inches tall (when horizontally) that are 1.5 pounds or less. Yes, iPad and Surface Pro will work! The current max device width is just under one inch (20mm). The cases that we found to be too large were the childproof, thick silicone cases, or those with additional carrying compartments on their backside. In those scenarios, the case may have to be removed once in-flight for best use. Q: What size beverages can fit? A: All airline cups + cans and bottles up to 16 ounces using built-in support that can be lowered from The Airhook's base. Q: What are the dimensions of The Airhook out-of-package? A: When folded compact, The Airhook is 5.5 inches long * 4 inches wide * 2.5 inches tall. Q: Can I use The Airhook in First Class, Bulk Head, and Exit Row seats when the tray table is in the armrest? A: YES! This version of The Airhook can be used in 'Standalone Mode' by simply folding the unit flat and using your device support ledge as you normally would. Please see how-to video for more. Q: Can I use The Airhook during takeoff and landing? A: No. Not only is it not safe, it is non-compliant with Stowage Federal Regulations (which is why the tray table must be closed too). Q: Is The Airhook FAA compliant? A: Yes, according to the rules in the current Code of Federal Regulations. Please note, it is very important [and the law] to always comply with airline crew member instructions. Frequently Asked Questions - The Crossbar Vehicle & Luggage Coupling [SOLD SEPARATELY] Q: What size headrests does The Crossbar work with? A: Use on headrests that have support bars 7.25 inches apart or smaller. Q: What size luggage handlebars does The Crossbar work with? A: Use on luggage handlebars that are 3.5 inches apart or wider. PRO TIP: Place The Airhook's tray table anchor as close to the center of the tray table as possible (near its locking mechanism) for the most secure setup. PRO TIP: Don't forget this step! This creates the clamping affect needed to prevent a wobbly experience. PRO TIP: You only need to loosen The Airhook's support knobs by a quarter turn to loosen them. ------------------------------------------------- Do you have any questions we can help with? Thanks! Step 4: PLACE electronics device onto Airhook perch and pull device clip over top of device. Step 5: PUSH rear tension knob. PRO TIP: Adjust the bungee size for your device before mounting to Tray Table (in your lap) for easier access to rear of device. Step 6: PULL bungee downward to tighten onto device. Release rear tension button to lock. PRO TIP: If you adjusted this in advance or are using a repeat device, simply pull bungee over the top of your electronics device. Step 7: POSITION device perch to desired viewing angle, tighten upper knob until movement is no longer possible. Convertible Mode: Beverage support now folds flush against your tray table for even more legroom! Simply loosen both support knobs and push cup holder and against the tray table surface. You will need to reset your viewing and then tighten both knobs back up. PRO TIP: To return to drink support, loosen both support knobs and pull cub holder back to level, then re-tighten both knobs. It may be easier to take your device our first and install it again using the standard setup instructions. Standalone Mode: Use your Airhook on any flat surface! We designed the bottom to be flush, to use fold flat as if you were going to store in your carry-on, then bungee your device on the device perch and set your desired angle. Voila! PRO TIP: If your device weight is causing The Airhook to lean, extend the Airhook's tray table anchor fully backwards and it will to create a larger support base.

abunda_amazon_reviews I wanted to like this phone mount but there were too many compromises. The mount doesn’t work well on tray tables with curved edges (as many tray tables are today, the seat shown in the product photos just aren’t used anymore) and you can’t adjust the angle. It is difficult to get your hand back to release the bungee that keeps the phone clamped. If the passenger in front of you reclines quickly, you could end up with your drink in your lap. The clamps aren’t very easy to adjust, can slip and the mount frankly takes a lot of space, so much so that the pouch had to be included. And as other people have reported, the adjustment bolts that hold the pieces together can easily come apart, with small pieces that can be easily lost while traveling. There are other, simpler mounts that although don’t include a cup holder, do a much better job of securing your phone in flight.;;Reviewed in the United States on October 3, 2019;;2.0 out of 5 stars;;Good idea, poor design;;cornhusker001;;/gp/customer-reviews/R23GK7UIBEWGRS/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B07S3R62NH;;;Wow! A product that does what it says it will! I’ve found that the easiest way to be distracted during a flight is to watch movies. But holding up my phone for hours is frustrating. Enter Airhook 2.0. Easy to use (I experimented with it before the flight) and held my device securely. There are less expensive phone holders, but they didn’t look like they’d hold the device if the seatback was jostled (I.e., the passenger in front of you suddenly reclining their seat). My only complaint is that it doesn’t store flat, so it takes a bit more space in my carry-on. A minor inconvenience. Several nearby passengers asked me where I got it. This was my first time using it on a flight from Denver to Boston, and took a bit of practice to learn the adjustment knobs particularly how to lower the beverage holder but finally got it. Unfortunately, my tablet died on the way to the airport which ended up working out as I am not certain that the Airhook could have completely held it. I still give this product a decent review, but beware that there are no rubber parts that will keep the plastic from slipping. I recognized this and placed 4 neoprene washers that I picked up at the local hardware store to make sure that the hinge points wouldn't move when I would tighten them down. Having said above that my tablet didn't work, I used my phone, but it kept wanting to slip to one side and fall out when we would hit turbulence. I would recommend getting some anti-skid rubber and placing it inside the hook portions that hold on to your tablet or phone. All said, great concept, I would have paid $50 for one if they made it out of metal with those improvements listed above. I need to take my cards out of the wallet or it’s too big-it’s an easy fix. And fits my Microsoft surface perfectly as well (I don’t have a case on it fyi) and don’t have to worry about my laptop volume buttons being hit by the person in front of me when they lean back. this device is light weight and folds up small to fit back in my case. I highly recommend this product!

Great for aisle seat people!
I always select an aisle seat so I can easily stand up to stretch or get to the bathroom. This is perfect as I can get up without having to move anything - no clearing off the tray table and stowing everything. And my seat mates in the middle and window seats can easily get by as well. Several nearby passengers asked me where I got it. This was my first time using it on a flight from Denver to Boston, and took a bit of practice to learn the adjustment knobs particularly how to lower the beverage holder but finally got it. Will definitely get a lot of use on a long flight to Europe. Pics don’t do it justice as I was too close to it but take my word it works great!! Held my iPad with case, no problem

Good, Quality construction
I Used the Airhook 2.0 on two recent flights (American Air and Southwest Air). I used the device to prop-up a Samsung Galaxy Tab E. (hooked onto the food tray, when latched closed) PROS: The Airhook kept a solid grasp of my device throughout the flight. CONS: In each case, I found that the viewing angle was still too low and in-effective for me - I had to McGuiver additional props with pamphlets stuffed in the periodicals pocket to achieve a greater tilt (Up). btw: I am 6ft tall) /dwm-AZ

Not for international travel
This may work for domestic economy seats but it does not work well on international flights as the seats are much thicker (in all classes including economy) and the hook does not easily fit over the seat. I tried but it was precarious. Also the cup holder was at such a tilt that it was unusable. so goid concept but a waste if money from my perspective as it’s in international flights that I need the convenience of having my phone propped up. Also note that it will not support iPads.

We love it!
We have only used the Air Hook once so far and give it a 5-star rating. Love the practical pouch that comes with it; very convenient to stick in my purse. And it is very light weight. Had no trouble setting it up on the plane (I choose to place my iPad sideways, and not straight up on the hook as it’s better for movie watching) but caution people to tighten it up for when the flight gets bumpy. I’d recommend it without hesitation to anyone who enjoys using their iPad or phone on the plane.

Design needs Improvements - You can do many yourself!
I purchased one of these for a trip that I took to cross the pacific. 15 hours of airtime can get to a person. I still recommend one of these for long flights.

Good idea, poor design
I wanted to like this phone mount but there were too many compromises. There are other, simpler mounts that although don’t include a cup holder, do a much better job of securing your phone in flight.

If you watch movies on the airplane, you need this.
Wow! Otherwise, I’m very pleased with this purchase.
